70 Years Ago: Launch of the NORDSTJERNEN

Built in post-war Hamburg and still in service: the NORDSTJERNEN. Today, October 26th, marks 70 years since her launch at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg.

From 1956 to 2012, the ship sailed along the Norwegian coast for Hurtigruten’s coastal service. Now a Norwegian listed historic monument, the NORDSTJERNEN is currently in service for Vestland Marine. Vestland Classic offers nostalgic cruises with the ship, primarily in Northern Europe.

The NORDSTJERNEN (IMO 5255777) is 88.78 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 2,191.
