AIDAmira wird Wohnschiff für Flüchtlinge
Die ehemalige AIDAmira (IMO 9172777), die im Januar 2022 von der britischen Ambassador Cruise Line gekauft und anschließend in AMBITION umbenannt wurde, wird an die schottische Regierung verchartert. Sie soll dann als Wohnschiff für Flüchtlinge aus der Ukraine dienen.
Ab Anfang September soll die AMBITION für 6 Monate in Schottland als Wohnschiff liegen. Danach soll sie zur Überholung zunächst ins Trockendock gehen. Der Neu-Start als Kreuzfahrtschiff verschiebt sich laut Angaben von Ambassador Cruise Line auf Mitte Mai 2023.
Das Kreuzfahrtschiff wurde 1999 auf den Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire als MISTRAL für die griechischen Festival Cruises gebaut. Es ist 216 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 48.123 vermessen.
AMBITION ex AIDAmira becomes a residential ship for refugees
The former AIDAmira (IMO 9172777), purchased by the British Ambassador Cruise Line in January 2022 and subsequently renamed AMBITION, will be chartered to the Scottish Government. She will then serve as a residential ship for refugees from Ukraine.
From the beginning of September, the AMBITION will be in Scotland as a accomodation ship for 6 months. After that, she will go into dry dock for an overhaul. According to Ambassador Cruise Line, the restart as a cruise ship has been postponed to mid-May 2023.
