Auch die KARNIKA zur Verschrottung verkauft

Ocean Village Two

KARNIKA also sold for scrapping

Just recently, the Indian Jalesh Cruises announced that they would completely stop their cruise operations due to the ongoing pandemic. The company has now sold its only cruise ship, the KARNIKA, for US $ 5 million. According to reports, the buyer will have the ship scrapped.

The KARNIKA (IMO 8521220) is the former CROWN PRINCESS, built at Fincantieri in Monfalcone. The later names of the ship were A’ROSA BLU, AIDAblu, OCEAN VILLAGE TWO and PACIFIC JEWEL. From 2019 until the outbreak of the pandemic this year, the KANRIKA was used for cruises for the Indian market from Mumbai, Goa and Dubai. The cruise ship is 245.08 meters long and measured with a gross tonnage of 70,310. She is a sister ship of the PACIFIC DAWN (IMO 8521232), which is to be handed over to Ocean Builders in these hours, who want to turn it into the „Crypto Cruise Ship“ SATOSHI.

The KARNIKA is to be brought to Alang for scrapping. Two years ago, even the idea of turning the ship into a cartoon cruise ship was considered.
