AIDAmira to be taken over by Ambassador Cruise Line: AMBITION

UK based Ambassador Cruise Line is taking over the AIDAmira (IMO 9172777) from AIDA Cruises, in order to deploy her from 2023 under the name AMBITION. With that cruise ship for 1200 passengers in 714 cabins, Ambassador Cruise Line primarily wants to appeal to the British 50+ audience. Cruises are offered from British ports, so-called no-fly sailings, bookable from the second quarter of 2022.

The AMBITION is already the second cruise ship for Ambassador Cruise Line, the newcomer to the cruise market. Some time ago, the cruise line had already acquired the former SATOSHI (IMO 8521232) ex PACIFIC DAWN ex REGAL PRINCESS, in order to bring her back into service as AMBIENCE after conversion. We reported on the turbulent developments on this cruise liner.

Built in 1999 as MISTRAL by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the AIDAmira is 216 meters long and measured at 48,123 gross tons. AIDA had taken over the liner 2109 from Costa, but had had no luck with the ship. After a bumpy start (we reported), the ship was only in service for a few months until the outbreak of the corona pandemic at the beginning of 2020.
