Das zweite Schiff der Edge-Klasse für Celebrity Cruises, die CELEBRITY APEX (IMO 9838383), hat dieser Tage erfolgreich ihre ersten Probefahrten beendet und ist zur Bauwerft Chantiers de l’Atlantique im französischen St. Nazaire zurückgekehrt.
Bei der Edge-Klasse handelt es sich um Kreuzfahrtschiffe mit einer Größe von je ca. 130.000 gross tons und einer Länge von 306 Metern. Eine der Besonderheiten ist der sogenannte Magic Carpet, ein seitlich angebrachtes, in der Höhe verstellbares Deck, das u.a. für Events oder als Tender-Plattform genutzt werden kann.
Die Auftakt-Saison für die CELEBRITY APEX soll am 1.4.2020 beginnen.

The second Edge-class ship for Celebrity Cruises, the CELEBRITY APEX (IMO 9838383), has successfully completed her first sea trials these days and has returned to the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France.
The Edge class are cruise ships with a size of approx. 130,000 gross tons and a length of 306 meters. One of the special features is the so-called Magic Carpet, a side-mounted, height-adjustable deck that, among other things can be used for events or as a tender platform.
The inaugural season for the CELEBRITY APEX is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2020.
