CELEBRITY ASCENT aufgeschwommen

Meilenstein für viertes Schiff der Edge-Klasse

Am 21. Januar ist auf den Chantiers de l’Atlantique im französischen Saint Nazaire das vierte Schiff der Edge-Klasse aufgeschwommen. Die CELEBRITY ASCENT (IMO 9838400) wird ein nahezu baugleiches Schiff wie die 2022 in Dienst gestellte CELEBRITY BEYOND (IMO 9838395). Sie wird damit etwa 326 Meter lang bei einer Vermessung von etwa 141.400 gross tons. Sie soll bis Ende 2023 fertiggestellt werden.

Herausragendes Feature der Edge-Klassse von Celebrity Cruises ist der seitlich des Schiffs als „schwebende“ Plattform angebrachte „Magic Carpet“.

Milestone for fourth Edge class ship

On January 21st, the fourth ship of the Edge class floated out on the shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, France. The CELEBRITY ASCENT (IMO 9838400) will be almost identical in construction to the CELEBRITY BEYOND (IMO 9838395), which was commissioned in 2022. She will be about 326 meters long with a measurement of about 141,400 gross tons. She is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.

The outstanding feature of Celebrity Cruises‘ Edge Class is the „Magic Carpet“ attached to the side of the ship as a „floating“ platform.
