Die Ivan-Franko-Klasse war eine Reihe von fünf Passagierschiffen, die zwischen 1963 und 1972 auf der Mathias-Thesen-Werft in Wismar für die damalige Sowjetunion gebaut wurden.
Die IVAN FRANKO (IMO 5415901) der Black Sea Shipping Company wurde 1997 in Alang verschrottet.
Die TARAS SHEVZHENKO (IMO 6508195) der Black Sea Shipping Company wurde 2005 ebenfalls in Alang verschrottet.
Die SHOTA RUSTAVELI (IMO 6707753) der Black Sea Shipping Company, zuletzt unterwegs unter dem Namen ASSEDO (Odessa rückwärts gelesen) ging 2003 nach Alang.
Die MIKHAIL LERMONTOV (IMO 7042318) der Baltic Shipping Company sank 1986 vor Neuseeland.
Die MARCO POLO ex ALEKSANDR PUSHKIN (IMO 6417097) ist im Januar 2021 in Alang eingetroffen, wo sie nun verschrottet wird.

End of the Ivan Franko class – Historical picture gallery
The Ivan Franko class was a series of five passenger ships that were built between 1963 and 1972 at the Mathias Thesen shipyard in Wismar for what was then the Soviet Union.
The IVAN FRANKO (IMO 5415901) of the Black Sea Shipping Company was scrapped in Alang in 1997.
The Black Sea Shipping Company’s TARAS SHEVZHENKO (IMO 6508195) was also scrapped in Alang in 2005.
The SHOTA RUSTAVELI (IMO 6707753) of the Black Sea Shipping Company, most recently under the name ASSEDO (Odessa read backwards), went to Alang in 2003.
The Baltic Shipping Company’s MIKHAIL LERMONTOV (IMO 7042318) sank off New Zealand in 1986.
