PACIFIC DAWN will become community ship  – the Crypto Cruise Ship with ownership cabins

P&O, which is part of the Carnival Corporation, are selling their PACIFIC DAWN to Ocean Builders, a company who wants to convert the cruise ship into a floating community that is to be permanently anchored in the Gulf of Panama.

Ocean Builders plan to take over the cruise ship on November 4th in the Mediterranean Sea and rename her SATOSHI. They also call their ship „The Crypto Cruise Ship“.

The company plans to start auctioning cabins on November 5th, one day after taking over the cruise liner. Starting with the cabins on deck 10, they are to be sold similar to condominiums. When the cabins on one deck have been sold, they would continue with the deck below. The company says buyers acquire full, perpetual ownership of their cabin and pay a monthly fee to cover operating costs. The operators of the ship also aim to attract companies and self-employed people who want to move their headquarters or their offices to the ship, in particular so-called blockchain companies.

The first sale is to include 200 cabins to be auctioned between November 5 and 28, 2020. The targeted price is expected to be between $ 25,000 and $ 50,000. A total of 777 cabins are available for a total occupancy of 2,020 people.

The residents of the Crypto Cruise Ship will have access to all amenities of the ship: from restaurants to bars, lounges and casinos to the fitness center. The commercial areas on board are to be operated by individual companies. Ocean Builders hope to attract business owners who will then live on board themselves to operate these areas.

After the takeover in the Mediterranean, the SATOSHI is to be transferred to the Gulf of Panama and anchored there. It should then be accessible by a 30-minute ferry crossing from Panama City. According to the current plan, the SATOSHI should be available as a residence from the beginning of 2021.
