Kiellegung bei Meyer Turku

Am 21. März wurde bei Meyer Turku in Finnland die Kiellegung der MEIN SCHIFF 7 gefeiert. Traditionsgemäß wurde dabei per Kran ein Stahlblock auf den Boden des Baudocks gesenkt. Damit wurde der Baustart für den Rumpf begangen. Glück-bringende Münzen wurden unter dem Block platziert.

MEIN SCHIFF 7 wird mit emissionsarmem Marine-Dieselöl betrieben werden und mit Katalysatoren, die die Stickoxidmenge um etwa 75% reduzieren, sowie mit Landstromanschluss ausgestattet. Darüber hinaus wird das Schiff so gebaut, dass es in Zukunft auch mit Methanol oder mit grünem Methanol betrieben werden kann. Damit will man Schritte Richtung klimaneutraler Nutzung des Schiffs machen.

MEIN SCHIFF 7 wird 315,70 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 111.500 vermessen. Sie wird Platz für 2.894 Passagiere in 1.461 Kabinen haben. 80% der Kabinen werden Balkonkabinen.

Keel Laying Ceremony on the Meyer Turku Yard

On March 21, the keel laying of MEIN SCHIFF 7 („My Ship 7“) for TUI Cruises was celebrated on the yard Meyer Turku in Finland. Traditionally, a steel block was lowered by crane to the floor of the construction dock. This marked the start of construction for the hull. Lucky coins were placed under the block.

MEIN SCHIFF 7 will be operated with low-emission marine diesel oil and equipped with catalytic converters that reduce the amount of nitrogen oxide by around 75%, as well as a shore power connection. In addition, the ship will be built in such a way that it can also be operated with methanol or green methanol in the future. The aim is to take steps towards climate-neutral use of the ship.

MEIN SCHIFF 7 will be 315.70 meters long and measured with a gross tonnage of 111,500. She will have a passanger capacity of 2,894 in 1,461 cabins. 80% of the cabins will be balcony cabins.
