LEISURE WORLD vor Alang eingetroffen

Ehemaliges NCL-Schiff vor der Verschrottung

Am 28. Juni 2021 ist die LEISURE WORLD (IMO 6921828)vor Alang in Indien eingetroffen. Einst war sie unter dem Namen SKYWARD der zweite Neubau für Norwegian Cruise Lines. Das 160,13 Meter lang Kreuzfahrtschiff wurde 1969 von der Seebeck-Werft der AG Weser gebaut. Bis 1991 fuhr die SKYWARD für Norwegian Cruise Lines. Anschließend wurde sie nach Asien verkauft. Zwischen 1991 und 1993 gab es mehrere Namenswechsel: SHANGRI-LA WORLD, ASEAN WORLD, FANTASY WORLD, CONTINENTAL WORLD und schließlich LEISURE WORLD. Seit 2000 diente der Cruise Liner als Casino-Schiff für New Century Cruise Line.

Mit dem Eintreffen vor Alang dürfte das Schiff in den kommenden Tagen auf Strand gesetzt werden, um mit dem Abbruch zu beginnen.

Former NCL ship about to be scrapped

The LEISURE WOLRD (IMO 6921828) arrived off Alang in India on June 28, 2021. She was once the second newbuild for Norwegian Cruise Lines under the name SKYWARD. The 160.13 meter long cruise ship was built in 1969 by the Seebeck shipyard of AG Weser. The SKYWARD was operated by Norwegian Cruise Lines until 1991. She was then sold to Asia. Between 1991 and 1993 there were several name changes: SHANGRI-LA WORLD, ASEAN WORLD, FANTASY WORLD, CONTINENTAL WORLD and finally LEISURE WORLD. Since 2000 the Cruise Liner served as a casino ship for New Century Cruise Line.

She will be beached in the coming days to begin demolition.
