MOBY DADA ex FINLANDIA on the Shipbreaking Yard

She was a ship as popular as she was well-known: the former FINLANDIA (IMO 7911533), a car and passenger ferry that was highly recognizable due to its iconic architecture. Built in 1980/81 in Turku, Finland, she was 166.10 meters long and had a gross tonnage of 25,905 gross tons.
After her years as FINLANDIA for Finska Ångfartygs AB (Finnish Steamship Co.) / Silja Line, she she was deployed for DFDS as QUEEN OF SCANDINAVIA, for St. Peter Line as PRINCESS MARIA, and finally as MOBY DADA for Moby.
In March, she was sold to Aliaga, Turkey, for scrapping. She has now arrived there, and demolition work has begun.
