ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS ausgedockt
Zweites Schiff der Quantum-Ultra-Klasse
Am 28. November 2020 wurde auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg die ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS (IMO 9795737) ausgedockt. Gleich nach dem Ausdocken wurden der Schornstein sowie die Aussichtsgondel North Star aufgesetzt. Die ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS ist das fünfte und letzte Schiff der Quantum-Klasse für Royal Caribbean, genauer gesagt das zweite Schiff der Quantum-Ultra-Klasse (nach der SPECTRUM OF THE SEAS). Dabei handelt es sich um Mega-Liner mit einer Passagier-Kapazität von etwa 4.900. Einzigartig bei dieser Schiffs-Reihe ist der North Star, eine Aussichtsgondel, die am Ende eines 41 Meter langen schwenkbaren Arms montiert ist. Die Gondel, die bis zu 14 Gäste aufnehmen kann, ermöglicht Rundum-Blicke aus einer Höhe von bis zu 91 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel. Die Bruttoraumzahl der ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS liegt bei 169.380. Die Ablieferung des Schiffs, die sich auf Grund der Corona-Pandemie verzögert hat, ist nun für 2021 vorgesehen.

2nd Quantum Ultra class ship
On November 28, 2020, the ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS (IMO 9795737) was floated out at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. Immediately after floating out, the funnel and the North Star gondola were put on. The ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS is the fifth and last ship of the Quantum class for Royal Caribbean, more precisely the second ship of the Quantum Ultra class (after the SPECTRUM OF THE SEAS). These are mega-liners with a passenger capacity of around 4,900. Unique to this series of ships is the North Star, a viewing gondola that is mounted at the end of a 41-meter-long pivoting arm. The gondola, which can accommodate up to 14 guests, allows all-round views from a height of up to 91 meters above sea level. The gross tonnage of the ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS is 169,380. The delivery of the ship, which has been delayed due to the corona pandemic, is now scheduled for 2021.
