NORWEGIAN AURA Float out

First Overview over the Breathtaking New Highlights on Board

At the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the NORWEGIAN AURA, currently under construction, was recently floated out for the first time. This marks a significant milestone in the construction of this cruise ship.

NORWEGIAN AURA (IMO 9862580) is the third ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima Plus class, following NORWEGIAN AQUA and NORWEGIAN LUNA. She is scheduled for completion by spring 2027. At 344 meters long and with a gross tonnage of 170,000, NORWEGIAN AURA will be approximately 10% larger than NORWEGIAN AQUA and NORWEGIAN LUNA. She will accommodate 3,880 passengers in 1,970 passenger cabins. This will make the AURA not only the largest ship in her class, but also the largest ship in the NCL fleet. With her size, she surpasses the ships of the Breakaway-Plus class. The largest ship in the NCL fleet to date is the NORWEGIAN ENCORE (IMO 9751511) with a gross tonnage of 169,116.

The highlight of the NORWEGIAN AURA will be the Ocean Heights, a new open-air adventure complex. Guests can look forward to:

– Various water slides

– Eclipse Racer, a duel mat slide

– Aura Free Fall, a drop-in slide where the floor opens up beneath your feet

– The Wave, a lotus/pendulum slide where guests swing back and forth between large, leaf-shaped sliding surfaces.

– Aura Ropes Course (high ropes course)

– A climbing wall

– Aura Midway (fairground-style games)

In addition, the NORWEGIAN AURA will feature a pool deck that is 20% larger than those of her two predecessors: with more sun loungers, an additional whirlpool, and open lounge areas. The Ocean Boulevard, which runs around the ship on Deck 8, has also been redesigned.
