Photo Gallery: Viking Vesta Christened in Split

Beautiful photo series from the christening in sunny Croatia
Last weekend, Split, Croatia, experienced a special maritime highlight: the ceremonial christening of the newest ocean-going cruise ship in the Viking Cruises fleet, the VIKING VESTA (IMO 9852444). With an impressive ceremony, the ship was officially commissioned and is now ready to take passengers on exciting voyages.
The honor of being the christening godmother of the VIKING VESTA went to the renowned Norwegian journalist Lene Tangevald-Jensen. In her role, she wished the ship and all its future passengers safe voyages and unforgettable experiences.
The event was musically accompanied by two outstanding artists. Norwegian soprano Sissel Kyrkjebø, known as one of the world’s leading crossover sopranos, enchanted the audience with her voice. Kyrkjebø is no stranger to the Viking family, having already had the honor of being the godmother of the VIKING JUPITER in January 2020. Acclaimed violinist Tor Jaran Apold also thrilled those present with an impressive performance.
With this latest addition, the company continues its expansion course and promises its guests comfort, culture, and unforgettable discoveries at sea.
