Princess Cruises taking delivery of STAR PRINCESS
On September 26, Princess Cruises took delivery of their second Sphere-class ship from Fincantieri. Participating in the delivery ceremony of the STAR PRINCESS (IMO 9863120) were:
• Gus Antorcha, President of Princess Cruises
• Star Princess Captain Gennaro Arma
• Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri
• Biagio Mazzotta, President and Chairman of Fincantieri
• Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division, and
• Cristiano Bazzara, Director of the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone,
and local government officials.
Among the prominent spaces aboard STAR PRINCESS are:
• The Dome, a next-generation relaxation and entertainment area
• The Arena, Princess’s most technologically advanced theater
• The Piazza, the ship’s architectural centerpiece, and
• Spellbound by Magic Castle.
On October 4, 2025, Star Princess will embark on her first Mediterranean cruise, sailing a round-trip from Barcelona before crossing the Atlantic on November 7, 2025, to begin a season of Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale.
Following her Caribbean season, she will sail through the Panama Canal to the U.S. West Coast to begin her first Alaskan season.
