OCEAN VICTORY launched

The OCEAN VICTORY, the second new Infinity-class newbuild for SunStone Ships, has recently been launched on the Haimen Shipyard in China.

The ship, with space for 186 passengers, is scheduled to be delivered later this year as part of a split charter deal in which Albatros Expeditions will operate the ship in Antarctica and Victory Cruise Lines will operate the ship in Alaska. Each charterer has the ship about 180 calendar days a year.

After the GREG MORTIMER had been delivered last year, the OCEAN VICTORY is the second the Infinity class ship. The GREG MORTIMER runs in long-term charter for Aurora expeditions.

Five further expedition cruise ships of this class are already in the order book of the shipyard with the option of up to a total of 10 ships.

A special feature of the Infinity-class ships is the innovative X-Bow, the bow shape, which significantly reduces the ship’s rolling movements and fuel consumption.
