Neue britische Cruise Line: Ambassador Cruise Line
Mit der Ambassador Cruise Line will sich eine neue britische Gesellschaft auf dem Kreuzfahrtmarkt etablieren. Als erstes Schiff wird dazu die ehemalige PACIFIC DAWN / SATOSHI gekauft, die ab April 2022 für die neue Gesellschaft in See stechen soll. Neuer Name des Schiffs wird AMBIENCE sein.
Das Kreuzfahrt-Programm
Ambassador Cruise Line’s Kreuzfahrtprogramm richtet sich hauptsächlich an die Zielgruppe der über 50-Jährigen. Es sollen Kreuzfahrten ab britischen Häfen angeboten werden, sogenannte No-Fly-Cruises. Die erste Reise wird eine Kurz-Kreuzfahrt nach Hamburg sein. Danach geht es mit einem gemischten Kreuzfahrtprogramm weiter. Darunter sind beispielsweise Reisen in die norwegischen Fjorde und zu den britischen Inseln. In den Wintermonaten sollen expeditionsähnliche Kreuzfahrten zu den Kanarischen Inseln, den Kapverdischen Inseln, nach Kuba, in die Karibik sowie nach Skandinavien angeboten werden.
Traditionelle Schiffe und Nachhaltigkeit
Ambassador Cruise Lines, die erfahrene Manager von Cruise & Maritime Voyages für sich gewinnen konnten, haben sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Freude an der Kreuzfahrt auf Schiffen, die noch nach solchen aussehen, zurückzubringen, ohne dabei die Umwelt aus dem Blick zu verlieren. Dabei will man das Schiff umwelttechnisch nachrüsten lassen.
Bewegte jüngere Geschichte des Schiffs
Die zukünftige AMBIENCE, die ehemalige PACIFIC DAWN von P&O Cruises Australia ex REGAL PRINCESS (IMO 8521232) hat in den vergangenen Monaten eine kleine Odyssey hinter sich. Eigentlich hatten Cruise & Maritime Voyages das Kreuzfahrtschiff kaufen und in AMY JOHNSON umbenennen wollen. Doch in Folge der Pandemie gingen CMV in die Insolvenz. P&O Australia fanden überraschend in Ocean Builders einen neuen Käufer. Diese benannten das Schiff in SATOSHI um und wollten daraus ein Community-Schiff machen, das vor der Küste Panamas liegen sollte. Dabei stieß die Gesellschaft jedoch auf Probleme, so dass die Pläne aufgegeben wurden. Die Verschrottung des Liners schien unabwendbar.
Im März 2021 traf der Cruise Liner jedoch überraschend in Bar in Montenegro ein, woraus sich die Hoffnung ergab, dass doch noch ein neuer Betreiber für das Kreuzfahrtschiff gefunden werden könnte. Nun übernimmt also mit Ambassador Cruise Lines ein Newcomer den Liner.

With the Ambassador Cruise Line, a new British company wants to establish itself on the cruise market. The first ship to be acquired is the former PACIFIC DAWN / SATOSHI, which is scheduled to set sail for the new company from April 2022. The ship’s new name will be AMBIENCE.
The cruise program
Ambassador Cruise Line’s cruise program is aimed primarily at the target group of people over 50. Cruises are to be offered from British ports, means no-fly cruises. The first trip will be a short cruise to Hamburg. Then it continues with a mixed cruise program. This includes trips to the Norwegian fjords and the British Isles. In the winter months, expedition-like cruises to the Canary Islands, the Cape Verde Islands, Cuba, the Caribbean and Scandinavia are to be offered.
Traditional ships and sustainability
Ambassador Cruise Lines, who were able to win over experienced managers from Cruise & Maritime Voyages, have set themselves the goal of bringing back the joy of cruising on ships that still look like them, without losing sight of the environment. They ae going to have the ship retrofitted in terms of environmental technology.
The ship’s eventful recent history
The future AMBIENCE, the former PACIFIC DAWN from P&O Cruises Australia ex REGAL PRINCESS (IMO 8521232) has had a little odyssey in the past few months. Actually, Cruise & Maritime Voyages wanted to buy the cruise ship and rename her AMY JOHNSON. But as a result of the pandemic, CMV went bankrupt. P&O Australia surprisingly found a new buyer in Ocean Builders. They renamed the ship SATOSHI and wanted to turn her into a community ship that was to lie off the coast of Panama. However, the company ran into problems, so the plans were abandoned. The scrapping of the liner seemed inevitable.
In March 2021, however, the cruise liner unexpectedly arrived in Bar in Montenegro, which gave rise to the hope that a new operator could still be found for the cruise ship. Now, with Ambassador Cruise Lines, a newcomer is taking over the liner.
