WORLD NAVIGATOR und WORLD TRAVELLER getauft

Atlas Ocean Voyages feierten am 19. Und 20. November 2022 die Taufen ihrer WORLD NAVIGATOR (IMO 9871531) und WORLD TRAVELLER (IMO 9904807). Beide Schiffe wurden in einem Fjord in der chilenischen Gletscherlandschaft am Beagle-Kanal in Patagonien getauft.

Taufpatin der WORLD NAVIGATOR war die Abenteurerin und Forscherin Karen Lundgren, die WORLD TRAVELLER wurde von Theresa Scalzitti, Chief Sales Officer bei Cruise Planners, getauft.

Nach der Taufe der WORLD TRAVELLER am 19. November fand eine Zodiac-Exkursion zum Pia-Gletscher statt, gefolgt von einem abendlichen Gala-Dinner. Die Feierlichkeiten der WORLD NAVIGATOR fanden am 20. November statt, denen ein feierliches Mittagessen an Bord dieses Schiffs vorausging.

Sowohl die WORLD NAVIGATOR als auch die WORLD TRAVELLER sind Polar-Kategorie C- und Eisklasse 1B-zertifiziert und richten sich an neugierige Reisende mit einer Leidenschaft für die Erkundung von abgelegenen Reisezielen. Die stilvollen und intimen Schiffe bieten Fünf-Sterne-Komfort, von einem All-Inclusive-Erlebnis an Bord und luxuriösen Unterkünften bis hin zu tiefgründigen Ausflügen und maßgeschneiderten Privattouren. Mit nur 100 Kabinen an Bord jedes Schiffs genießen die Passagiere ein Gäste-Personal-Verhältnis von fast 1:1

Cruise Ship Double Christening in Glacier Landscape

WORLD NAVIGATOR and WORLD TRAVELER christened

Atlas Ocean Voyages celebrated the naming of their WORLD NAVIGATOR (IMO 9871531) and WORLD TRAVELLER (IMO 9904807) on November 19th and 20th, 2022. Both ships were christened in a fjord in the Chilean glacial landscape of the Beagle Channel in Patagonia.

Godmother for WORLD NAVIGATOR was adventurer and explorer Karen Lundgren, while WORLD TRAVELLER was christened by Theresa Scalzitti, Chief Sales Officer at Cruise Planners.

After the christening of the WORLD TRAVELLER on November 19th, a Zodiac excursion to the Pia Glacier took place, followed by a gala dinner in the evening. The WORLD NAVIGATOR celebrations took place on November 20th, preceded by a celebratory luncheon aboard this ship.

Both the WORLD NAVIGATOR and WORLD TRAVELLER are polar category C and ice class 1B certified and are aimed at the curious traveller with a passion for exploring remote destinations. Stylish and intimate, the ships offer five-star comfort, from an all-inclusive onboard experience and luxurious accommodation to in-depth excursions and bespoke private tours. With only 100 passenger staterooms on board each ship, passengers enjoy a guest-to-staff ratio of almost 1:1

Mystic Invest hat die VASCO DA GAMA ersteigert

Mystic Invest, Eigner der Kreuzfahrtgesellschaften Atlas Ocean Voyages und Nicko Cruises, hat die VASCO DA GAMA (IMO 8919245) von CMV Cruise & Maritime Voyages, ersteigert. CMV hatte vor wenigen Monaten Insolvenz anmelden müssen. Daher werden die Schiffe der CMV-Flotte versteigert.

Mystic ist bisher Eigner der Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiffe WORLD EXPLORER und WORLD VOYAGER (letztere noch nicht in Dienst gestellt). Die nun ersteigerte VASCO DA GAMA wird damit das größte Schiff in der Mystic-Flotte. Mystic will sie voraussichtlich für den britischen und deutschen Kreuzfahrt-Markt einsetzen – also so wie zuvor auch schon CMV.

Der Cruise Liner wurde 1991 bis 1993 bei Fincantieri als STATENDAM für Holland America Line gebaut.

Die VASCO DA GAMA erhielt im März dieses Jahres hohe Aufmerksamkeit durch einen bis dahin nie da gewesen Passagier-Tausch auf hoher See.

Mystic Invest has bought VASCO DA GAMA at auction

Mystic Invest, owner of the cruise lines Atlas Ocean Voyages and Nicko Cruises, has bought VASCO DA GAMA (IMO 8919245) from CMV Cruise & Maritime Voyages. CMV had to file for bankruptcy a few months ago. That is why their cruise ships are being sold by auction.

Up to now, Mystic is the owner of the ocean-going cruise ships WORLD EXPLORER and WORLD VOYAGER (the latter not yet put into service). The VASCO DA GAMA, which has now been auctioned, will be the largest ship in the Mystic fleet. Mystic will probably use them for the British and German cruise market – just like CMV before.

The Cruise Liner was built by Fincantieri as STATENDAM for Holland America Line from 1991 to 1993.

The VASCO DA GAMA received high attention in March this year due to a never before seen ship to ship passenger swap on the high seas.
