Wichtiger Meilenstein im Bau des nächsten Schiffs der Helios-Klasse

Am 15. Januar ist die COSTA TOSCANA bei Meyer Turku in Finnland aufgeschwommen. Damit ist ein Meilenstein im Bau des zweiten LNG-betriebenen Kreuzfahrtschiffs für Costa Cruises erreicht. Die COSTA TOSCANA (IMO 9781891) ist nach der COSTA SMERLADA das zweite Schiff der Helios-Klasse für Costa Cruises sowie das sechste Schiff dieser Klasse für die Carnival-Gruppe. Die Schiffe der Helios-Klasse werden abwechselnd bei Meyer in Papenburg und Meyer Turku gebaut. Die COSTA TOSCANA ist 337 Meter lang und 42 Meter breit. Sie wird mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 185.000 vermessen sein. 6.730 Passagiere werden in 2.663 Passagier-Kabinen Platz finden. 62,2% der Kabinen sind Balkon-Kabinen.

Die COSTA TOSCANA sollte eigentlich bis Ende 2021 abgeliefert werden, wird aber wohl erst 2022 von Costa übernommen.

COSTA TOSCANA floated out

Important milestone in the construction of the next Helios class ship

On January 15th, the COSTA TOSCANA was floated out on the Meyer Turku yard in Finland. This marks a milestone in the construction of the second LNG-powered cruise ship for Costa Cruises. After the COSTA SMERLADA, the COSTA TOSCANA (IMO 9781891) is the second Helios class ship for Costa Cruises and the sixth ship of this class for the Carnival Group. The ships of the Helios class are built alternately by Meyer in Papenburg and Meyer Turku. The COSTA TOSCANA is 337 meters long and 42 meters wide. She will be measured with a gross tonnage of 185,000. Upto 6,730 passengers will find space in 2,663 passenger cabins. 62.2% of the cabins are balcony cabins. The COSTA TOSCANA should originally be delivered by the end of 2021, but it will probably not be taken over by Costa until 2022.

COSTA VICTORIA soll in der Türkei verschrottet werden

Die COSTA VICTORIA (IMO 9109031) wird endgültig verschrottet. Das soll im türkischen Aliaga geschehen, wo 2020 bereits diverse alte Kreuzfahrtschiffe endeten.

Die COSTA VICTORIA, umbenannt in ST. VICTORIA soll mit Hilfe eines Schleppers von Piombino nach Aliaga geschleppt werden.

Gebaut wurde der Cruise Liner bei Bremer Vulkan, die Fertigstellung erfolgte 1996 bei der Lloyd-Werft in Bremerhaven. Die COSTA VICTORIA ist 253 Meter lang und hatte Platz für ca. 2.400 Passagiere.

COSTA VICTORIA to be scrapped in Turkey

The COSTA VICTORIA (IMO 9109031) will be finally scrapped. This is going to happen in Aliaga, Turkey, where various old cruise ships ended up in 2020.

The COSTA VICTORIA, renamed ST. VICTORIA is to be towed from Piombino to Aliaga with the help of a tug.

The Cruise Liner was built at Bremer Vulkan, Germany, and completed in 1996 at the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven. The COSTA VICTORIA is 253 meters long and had a passenger capacity of around 2,400.
