On April 19, the new cruise ship for Disney Cruise Line, the DISNEY ADVENTURE, left the shipyard’s construction hall in Wismar in Northern Germany. However, the cruise liner is not yet complete. The unfinished ship is currently moored at the outfitting pier, where work is continuing amidst a flurry of activity. The 342-meter-long and more than 70-meter-high DISNEY ADVENTURE is scheduled to be completed there in the coming months.

The cruise ship’s maiden voyage is scheduled for December from Singapore. The DISNEY ADVENTURE is designed to accommodate up to 6,000 passengers and 2,300 crew members.

Ein beeindruckendes Schauspiel gab es am 19. April in Wismar zu bestaunen, als das riesige Kreuzfahrtschiff DISNEY ADVENTURE das Baudock der Meyer Werft verließ. Zahlreiche Schaulustige und Medienvertreter waren vor Ort, um dieses besondere Ereignis mitzuerleben, auch wenn der Alte Hafen aus Sicherheitsgründen gesperrt war.

Das Ausdocken des 342 Meter langen und über 70 Meter hohen Ozeanriesen begann am Vormittag und dauerte knapp eine Stunde. Mehrere Schlepper zogen den Koloss Zentimeter für Zentimeter aus der riesigen Werfthalle.

Die DISNEY ADVENTURE (IMO 9808986), die ursprünglich als GLOBAL DREAM für die asiatische Genting Group gebaut wurde, wechselte nach der Insolvenz der MV-Werften den Besitzer und wird nun für Disney Cruise Line fertiggestellt. Nach sechseinhalbjähriger Bauzeit konnte die Öffentlichkeit heute erstmals den Rumpf des Schiffes mit den charakteristischen Disney-Verzierungen bewundern.

Nach dem Ausdocken wurde die DISNEY ADVENTURE am Ausrüstungskai festgemacht. Dort sollen in den kommenden Monaten die Schornsteine und sogar eine Achterbahn installiert werden – Elemente, für die in der Werfthalle kein Platz war.

Die Jungfernfahrt des Kreuzfahrtschiffes ist für Dezember ab Singapur geplant. An Bord finden bis zu 6.000 Passagiere und 2.300 Besatzungsmitglieder Platz. Bis dahin wird die DISNEY ADVENTURE noch einige Zeit das Stadtbild von Wismar prägen. Bis zum Sommer wird die DISNEY ADVENTURE noch im Hafen von Wismar liegen, bevor sie Kurs auf Singapur nimmt. Schiff-Fans haben also noch einige Monate Zeit, den imposanten Kreuzfahrtriesen in Augenschein zu nehmen.

The floating out of the 342-meter-long and over 70-meter-high ocean giant began in the morning and lasted just under an hour. Several tugboats pulled the ship inch by inch out of the enormous shipyard hall.

The DISNEY ADVENTURE (IMO 9808986) , originally built as GLOBAL DREAM for the Asian Genting Group, had changed hands after the insolvency of the MV Werft shipyards and is now being completed for Disney Cruise Line. After six and a half years of construction, the public was able to admire the ship’s hull with its signature Disney decorations for the first time today. After floating out the DISNEY ADVENTURE was moored at the yard quay. The funnels and even a roller coaster will be installed there in the coming months – features for which there was no room in the shipyard hall. The cruise ship’s maiden voyage is scheduled for December from Singapore. It will accommodate up to 6,000 passengers and 2,300 crew members.

For now, the DISNEY ADVENTURE will continue to dominate the Wismar cityscape for some time. The DISNEY ADVENTURE will remain in the port of Wismar until the summer before setting sail for Singapore. Ship enthusiasts therefore still have a few months to admire the impressive cruise giant.
