Disney Cruise Line hat am 12. September den Namen ihres zweiten Schiffs der Triton-Klasse bekannt gegeben: DISNEY TREASURE. Der LNG-betriebene Neubau wird auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg gebaut und soll 2024 abgeliefert werden. Sie folgt der in diesem Jahr abgelieferten DISNEY WISH.

Die DISNEY TREASURE (IMO 9834741) soll unter dem Thema „Abenteuer“ stehen.

Die Grand Hall der DISNEY TREASURE soll den Reiz des Abenteuers ausstrahlen und die Gäste einladen, vom ersten Moment an Schätze an Bord zu suchen. Inspiriert von der Pracht und dem Geheimnis eines vergoldeten Palastes, schöpft es aus realen Einflüssen aus Asien und Afrika und ist eine Hommage an das ferne Land Agrabah aus dem Märchenklassiker „Aladdin“ der Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Die charakteristische Statue im Atrium – eine Tradition von Disney Cruise Line – wird eine glänzende, schimmernde, prächtige Darstellung von Aladdin, Jasmine und Magic Carpet sein, die gemeinsam in eine ganz neue Welt voller Abenteuer aufsteigen.

DISNEY TREASURE – first pictures of the second of the Triton class ship

On September 12 Disney Cruise Line announced the name of their second Triton-class ship: DISNEY TREASURE. The new LNG-powered ship will be constructed by the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, and is scheduled for delivery in 2024. She will follow the DISNEY WISH delivered this year.

The DISNEY TREASURE (IMO 9834741) is said to have an „adventure“ theme.

The Grand Hall of DISNEY TREASURE is designed to exude the allure of adventure and invite guests to seek treasure on board from the very first moment. Inspired by the splendor and mystery of a gilded palace, it draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pays homage to the distant land of Agrabah from the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic fairy tale Aladdin.

The signature statue in the atrium – a Disney Cruise Line tradition – will be a lustrous, shimmering, lavish representation of Aladdin, Jasmine and Magic Carpet as they ascend together into a new world of adventure.

Überraschende außergewöhnliche Taufpaten, die der DISNEY WISH alle Ehre machten

Am 29. Juni 2022 wurde die DISNEY WISH, das fünfte Schiff der Flotte von Disney Cruise Line, in Port Canaveral getauft. Die großartige Feier wurde umrahmt von spektakulären musikalischen Darbietungen, besonderen Gästen und Charakteren aus Disney, Marvel und Star Wars.

Mit der Auswahl der Taufpaten hat Disney Cruise Line eine überraschende, aber sehr passende Wahl getroffen. Passend zum Namen des Schiffs sollten alle Make-A-Wish-Kinder der Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft Taufpaten der DISNEY WISH sein. Sie wurden vertreten von drei Botschaftern: Colby 10 Jahre, Megan 16 Jahre und Jenna 12 Jahre.

Die Make A Wish Foundation ist eine international aktive, gemeinnütige Organisation, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, Herzenswünsche schwerkranker Kinder zu erfüllen.

Die Feier gipfelte im zeremoniellen Zerbrechen einer Champagnerflasche am Bug  im besten Disney-Stil mit einer Prise Feenstaub und einer Symphonie aus Pyrotechnik, Spezialeffekten, Musik und Fanfaren.

Am 14. Juli brach die von der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg gebaute DISNEY WISH zu ihrer Jungfernfahrt auf.  Danach führt sie drei- und viertägige Kreuzfahrten von Port Canaveral, Florida, nach Nassau, Bahamas, und zu Disneys Privatinsel Castaway Cay durch.

Surprising extraordinary godparents for DISNEY WISH

On June 29, 2022, DISNEY WISH, the fifth ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, was christened in Port Canaveral. The grand celebration was framed by spectacular musical performances, special guests and characters from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars.

With the selection of godparents, Disney Cruise Line made a surprising but very appropriate choice. In keeping with the ship’s name, all Make-A-Wish children past, present and future should be godparents to the DISNEY WISH. They were represented by three ambassadors: Colby 10 years, Megan 16 years and Jenna 12 years.

The Make A Wish Foundation is an internationally active, non-profit organization that has set itself the goal of fulfilling the heart’s desires of seriously ill children.

The celebration culminated in the ceremonial breaking of a champagne bottle on the bow in the best Disney style, with a sprinkling of pixie dust and a symphony of pyrotechnics, special effects, music and fanfares.

On July 14, the DISNEY WISH set off on its maiden voyage. She then operates three- and four-day cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private island of Castaway Cay.

Am 30. März hat die Meyer-Werft ihr neuestes Kreuzfahrtschiff, die DISNEY WISH von Papenburg über die Ems Richtung Nordsee überführt. Die Reise begann um 7:45 Uhr an der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg, um etwa 8:30 wurde die Dockschleuse passiert.
nach der Passage des Nadelöhrs an der Friesenbrücke in Weener um etwa 12:30 Uhr sowie an der Jann-Berghaus-Brücke in Leer um 15:30 Uhr traf die DISNEY WISH am Abend vor dem Sperrwerk in Gandersum ein.

Vor der Übergabe an Disney Cruise Lines muss das Kreuzfahrtschiff noch komplett fertiggestellt und einigen Probefahrten unterzogen werden.

DISNEY WISH Ems River Conveyance – Photo Gallery

On March 30th, the Meyer shipyard transferred their newest cruise ship, the DISNEY WISH, from Papenburg via the river Ems towards the North Sea. The voyage began at 7:45 a.m. at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, and the dock lock was passed at around 8:30 a.m.

After passing the the Friesen Bridge in Weener at around 12:30 p.m. and the Jann-Berghaus Bridge in Leer at 3:30 p.m., the DISNEY WISH arrived in front of the barrage in Gandersum in the evening.

Before handing over to Disney Cruise Lines, the cruise ship still has to be finally completed and subjected to  sea trials.

DISNEY WISH, CARNIVAL CELEBRATION und SH VEGA aufgeschwommen

Freitag, der 11. Februar, war großer „Float-Out-Freitag“. An diesem Tag sind gleich drei neue Kreuzfahrtschiffe aufgeschwommen: Die Meyer-Werft feierte mit dem Ausdocken der DISNEY WISH in Papenburg sowie der CARNIVAL CELEBRATION in Turku gleich zwei Events dieser Art. Und Finnland unterstrich (ebenfalls am 11. Februar) seine Position im internationalen Kreuzfahrtschiffbau mit einem weiteren Meilenstein: dem Aufschwimmen der SH VEGA für Swan Hellenic auf der Helsinki Shipyard.

Die DISNEY WISH wird Platz für ca. 4.000 Passagiere haben und ist vermessen mit ca. 144.000 gross tons. Ablieferung ist für Frühjahr dieses Jahres vorgesehen.

Die CARNIVAL CELEBRATION ist mit 185.000 gross tons vermessen. Als neustes Schiff der Excel-Klasse ist sie das zweite mit LNG betriebene Kreuzfahrtschiff für Carnival Cruise Lines. Der Name des Schiffs wurde passend zum 50. Jubiläum von Carnival Cruise Lines in diesem Jahr gewählt.

Die SH VEGA mit einer Länge von 113 Metern und einer Vermessung von ca. 10.500 gross tons ist der zweite Neubau für Swan Hellenic. Es handelt sich um ein Expeditionskreuzfahrtschiff für 152 Passagiere. Die SH VEGA wird auf der Helsinki Shipyard gebaut.

Big Float Out Friday!

DISNEY WISH, CARNIVAL CELEBRATION and SH VEGA floated out

Friday February 11th was Big Float Out Friday. On this day, three new cruise ships were floated out : The Meyer shipyard celebrated two events of this kind with the docking out of the DISNEY WISH in Papenburg and the CARNIVAL CELEBRATION in Turku. And Finland underlined (also on February 11) its position in international cruise ship construction with another milestone: the float out of the SH VEGA for Swan Hellenic at the Helsinki Shipyard.

The DISNEY WISH will have space for around 4,000 passengers and is measured at around 144,000 gross tons. Delivery is scheduled for spring of this year.

The CARNIVAL CELEBRATION is measured at 185,000 gross tons. As the newest Excel class ship, she is the second LNG-powered cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Lines. The ship’s name was chosen to commemorate Carnival Cruise Lines‘ 50th anniversary this year.

The SH VEGA with a length of 113 meters and a measurement of approx. 10,500 gross tons is the second newbuild for Swan Hellenic. She is a 152-passenger expedition cruise ship. The SH VEGA is under construction on the Helsinki Shipyard.

Erste Eindrücke, wie die DISNEY WISH aussehen wird

Die DISNEY WISH befindet sich derzeit im Bau auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg. Laut Disney Cruise Lines wird das neue Kreuzfahrtschiff ganz unter dem Motto „Verzauberung“ stehen. Das beginnt mit den Angeboten für die jüngsten und jungen Passagiere mit dem Oceaneer Club, der Mavel Super Hero Academy, der Fairytale Hall sowie dem Imagineering Lab, alles in echtem Disney-Stil, und geht bis zu den Adults-only-Angeboten: der Hyperspace Lounge und dem Quiet Cove Pool District.

Zu den Familen-Restaurants werden das Arendelle, ein Restaurant mit Performances während des Speisens, sowie das Worlds of Marvel, das als filmisches Dining-Abenteuer beschrieben wird, gehören.

Im Kabinen-Bereich wird es als Neuheit bei Disney Cruise Line auch doppelstöckige Suiten geben.

Die DISNEY WISH ist das erste von drei neuen Kreuzfahrtschiffen, die für Disney Cruise Lines auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg gebaut werden. Alle drei Schiffe erhalten einen modernen LNG-Antrieb. Bis 2025 soll das komplette Trio abgeliefert sein. Die DISNEY WISH soll ab Juni 2022 in See stechen. Jedes der drei Schiffe wird mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von etwa 144.000 vermessen sind und Platz für ca. 4.000 Passagiere haben. Die Besatzungsstärke wird bei je ca. 1550 liegen.

First impressions of what the DISNEY WISH will look like

The DISNEY WISH is currently under construction on the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. According to Disney Cruise Lines, the motto of the new cruise ship will be “Enchantment”. It starts with the offers for the youngest and young passengers with the Oceaneer Club, the Mavel Super Hero Academy, the Fairytale Hall and the Imagineering Lab, all in true Disney style, and goes on to the adults-only offers: the Hyperspace Lounge and the Quiet Cove Pool District. Family dining will include Arendelle, a restaurant with performances while you dine, and Worlds of Marvel, described as a cinematic dining adventure.

In the cabin area, there will also be two-story suites as a novelty at Disney Cruise Line. The DISNEY WISH is the first of three new cruise ships to be built for Disney Cruise Lines on the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. All three ships will be equipped with modern LNG propulsion. The complete trio should be delivered by 2025. The DISNEY WISH is scheduled to set sail in June 2022. Each of the three ships will be measured with a gross tonnage of around 144,000 and have space for around 4,000 passengers. The crew strength will be around 1550 each.

RAPUNZEL als Heckfigur

Sie wird der erste Neubau eines neuen Trios für Disney Cruise, das bei Meyer in Papenburg gebaut wird: ein neues Familien-Kreuzfahrtschiff von etwa 144.000 gross tons und mit Platz für etwa 2.500 Passagiere in 1.250 Kabinen.

Das erste Schiff dieser Triton-Klasse wird DISNEY WISH heißen, wie Disney Cruise Lines nun bekannt gegeben haben. Die für Disney Cruise Line-Schiffe charakteristische Heckfigur wird diesmal die Märchenfigur Rapunzel sein.

DISNEY WISH wird übrigens ein LNG-betriebenes Kreuzfahrtschiff. Damit entwickelt sich die Meyer-Werft weiter zur Schmiede umweltfreundlicher Schiffe.  Die DISNEY WISH (IMO 9834739) soll Ende 2021 abgeliefert werden, ihre beiden Schwesterschiffe sollen 2022 und 2023 folgen.
