Nachdem Carnival Cruise Line und die Meyer Werft, Papenburg, im Februar dieses Jahres den Bau eines weiteren Kreuzfahrtschiffs der Excel-Klasse für Ablieferung 2027 vereinbart hatten, wurde nun bekannt gegeben, dass darüber hinaus ein weiteres Schiff für Ablieferung 2028 gebaut werden soll. Carnival Cruise Line wird damit ab 2028 fünf Schiffe der Excel-Klasse betreiben. Die Neubauten werden Schwesterschiffe der Ende 2023 abgelieferten CARNIVAL JUBILEE werden. Sie sollen jeweils etwa 344 Meter lang werden, mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 180.000 vermessen sein und bis zu 6.400 Passagieren Platz bieten. Sie werden das zehnte und elfte Schiff dieser Klasse für die Carnival-Gruppe.
Neuntes Schiff der Helios-Klasse komplettiert die Baureihe
Am 4. Dezember 2023 hat die Meyer-Werft, Papenburg, mit der CARNIVAL JUBILEE (IMO 9851737) das neunte und letzte Schiff der Helios-Klasse (Excellence-Klasse) abgeliefert. Die Übergabe fand in Bremerhaven statt. Carnival Cruise Lines haben damit nach der MARDI GRAS (IMO 9837444) und CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456) ihr drittes Schiff dieser Baureihe erhalten.
Die CARNIVAL JUBILEE ist 345 Meter lang, 42 Meter breit und bietet Platz für 5.228 Passagiere in 2.687 Kabinen. Nach der bevorstehenden Transatlantik-Überquerung wird die CARNIVAL JUBILEE in Galveston, Texas, stationiert, wo sie am 23. Dezember auch ihre Jungfernfahrt beginnen wird.

Ninth ship of the Helios class completes the series
On December 4, 2023, the Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany, handed over the CARNIVAL JUBILEE (IMO 9851737), the ninth and final ship of the Helios class (Excellence class) to Canrival Cruise Lines,. The handover took place in Bremerhaven. Carnival Cruise Lines have now received their third ship in this series after the MARDI GRAS (IMO 9837444) and CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456).
The CARNIVAL JUBILEE is 345 meters long, 42 meters wide and has a passanger capacity of 5,228 in 2,687 cabins. After the upcoming transatlantic crossing, the CARNIVAL JUBILEE will be based in Galveston, Texas.

Pünktlich zu ihrer 50-Jahr-Feier hat Carnival Cruise Line die CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456) von der Bauwerft Meyer Turku in Finnland übernommen. Am 2. November haben Carnival President Christine Duffy und Carnival Senior Vice President New Builds Ben Clement sowie Tim Meyer, CEO Meyer Turku, die Übergabe-Dokumente feierlich unterzeichnet.
Das 344 Meter lange, mit LNG betriebene Kreuzfahrtschiff ist das zweite Schiff der Excellence-Klasse für Carnival Cruise Line und bereits das siebte Schiff dieser Klasse für die Carnival-Gruppe. Außergewöhnliches Highlight der CARNIVAL CELEBRATION, Schwesterschiff der MARDI GRAS, ist eine Achterbahn an Bord.
Der Cruise Liner nimmt nun Kurs auf Southampton, wo eine 14-tägige Transatlantik-Kreuzfahrt nach Florida beginnt. Am 20. November wird die CARNIVAL CELEBRATION in Miami erwartet. Am selben Tag soll das Schiff dort von US-Schauspielerin Cassidy Gifford getauft werden.
Die Carnival-Gruppe wird noch zwei weitere Neubauten der Excel-Klasse übernehmen: die ARVIA (IMO 9849693), die bereits in wenigen Wochen an P&O Cruises abgeliefert werden wird, sowie die CARNIVAL JUBILEE (IMO 9851737), das dritter Schiff dieser Klasse für Carnival Cruise Line. Die Ablieferung ist für 2023 vorgesehen. Das Schiff entsteht derzeit auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg.

Carnival Cruise Line takes delivery of newest ship in Finland
Carnival Cruise Line has taken over the CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456) from the shipyard Meyer Turku in Finland, just in time for their 50th anniversary. On November 2, Carnival President Christine Duffy and Carnival Senior Vice President New Builds Ben Clement and Tim Meyer, CEO Meyer Turku, ceremonially signed the handover documents.
The 344 meter LNG powered cruise ship is the second Excellence class ship for Carnival Cruise Line and the seventh ship in this class for the Carnival group. An extraordinary highlight of the CARNIVAL CELEBRATION, sister ship of the MARDI GRAS, is a roller coaster on board.
The cruise liner now sets course for Southampton, where a 14-day transatlantic cruise to Florida begins. The CARNIVAL CELEBRATION is expected to arrive in Miami on November 20th. On the same day, the ship will be christened there by US actress Cassidy Gifford.
The Carnival Group will take delivery of two more newbuilds in the Excel class: the ARVIA (IMO 9849693), which will be delivered to P&O Cruises in just a few weeks, and the CARNIVAL JUBILEE (IMO 9851737), the third ship in this class for Carnival Cruise line. Delivery is scheduled for 2023. The ship is currently being built at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

AIDAcosma – Maiden call in Hamburg
Today, Friday, February 25, 2022, the AIDAcosma, the youngest member of the AIDA fleet, is expected to make her maiden call in Hamburg.
The AIDAcosma (IMO 9781877) was handed over to AIDA in December 2021 by the Meyer shipyard, Papenburg. As the sixth Helios class ship (also Excellence class or Excel class), like her sister ship AIDAnova, she has an innovative LNG propulsion system. The cruise giant is scheduled to embark on its first-ever fare-paying cruise on February 26. The opening season with Hamburg as base port will culminate with the christening in the Hanseatic city on April 9th. Godmother will be Kristina Vogel, a former cyclist and two-time Olympic champion
Wie berichtet ist am 11. Februar 2022 bei Meyer Turku in Finnland das nächste LNG-betriebene Kreuzfahrtschiff für Carnival Cruise Line aufgeschwommen: die CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456). Der Name des Schiffs wurde bewusst gewählt, da Carnival Cruise Line in diesem Jahr ihr 50. Jubiläum feiert.
Das Aufschwimmen auf der Werft in Turku wurde dann auch gebührend mit einem Kanonenschlag aus einer historischen Kanone gefeiert.
Die CARNIVAL CELEBRATION ist nach der MARDI GRAS das zweite Schiff der Excel-Klasse (auch Excellence-Klasse oder Helios-Klasse) für Carnival Cruise Line. Die Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft soll darüber hinaus auch noch ein drittes Schiff dieser Klasse erhalten.

Excellence class ship no. 7
As reported, the next LNG-powered cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Line floated out at Meyer Turku in Finland on February 11, 2022: the CARNIVAL CELEBRATION (IMO 9837456). The name of the ship was chosen because Carnival Cruise Line is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The floating out on the shipyard in Turku was duly celebrated with a cannon blast from a historic cannon.
After the MARDI GRAS, the CARNIVAL CELEBRATION is the second Excel class ship (also Excellence class or Helios class) for Carnival Cruise Line. The cruise line is also to receive a third ship of this class.
The Excellence class cruise ships already delivered by the Meyer yards are: AIDAnova, COSTA SMERALDA, IONA, MARDI GRAS, COSTA TOSCANA and AIDAcosma.

Weiteres Helios-Klasse-Schiff nähert sich der Fertigstellung
Die COSTA TOSCANA (IMO 9781891) hat ihre ersten Probefahrten erfolgreich abgeschlossen und ist zur Bauwerft Meyer Turku zurückgekehrt. Sie ist das zweite Schiff der Helios-Klasse / Excellence-Klasse für Costa Cruises sowie das bereits sechste Schiff dieser Klasse für die Carnival-Gruppe.
Die COSTA TOSCANA soll noch bis Dezember 2021 fertiggestellt und an Costa übergeben werden. Sie soll allerdings erst im Frühjahr 2022 ihren Dienst aufnehmen. Die erste Kreuzfahrt ist für den 5. März ab Savona geplant.
Das fünfte Schiff dieser Baureihe, die AIDAcosma, war erst kürzlich, am 23. Oktober, von der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg zur Nordsee überführt worden, wird aber wohl erst nach der COSTA TOSCANA fertig.
COSTA TOSCANA returned from sea trials
COSTA TOSCANA (IMO 9781891) has successfully completed her first sea trials and has returned to the Meyer Turku shipyard. She is the second Helios class / Excellence class ship for Costa Cruises and the sixth ship of this class for the Carnival Group. The COSTA TOSCANA is to be completed and handed over to Costa by December 2021. However, she is not expected to start operations until spring 2022. The first cruise is scheduled for March 5th from Savona. The fifth ship of this series, the AIDAcosma, was recently transferred from the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg to the North Sea, but will probably only be ready after the COSTA TOSCANA.
