Die WestSEA Shipyard im portugiesischen Viana do Castelo übergab am 15. Dezember die STAR SEEKER (IMO 9904819) an Windstar Cruises. Das Kreuzfahrtschiff mit einer Länge von 119,88 Metern und einer Vermessung von 9.923 gross tons ist das fünfte Schiff der Explorer-Klasse. Die ersten vier Schiffe dieser Reihe waren für die portugiesische Reederei Mystic Cruises gebaut worden.
Ende 2026 soll für Windstar Cruises mit der STAR EXPLORER ein zweites Schiff dieser Reihe fertiggestellt werden.
WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, delivered the STAR SEEKER (IMO 9904819) to Windstar Cruises on December 15. The cruise ship, measuring 119.88 meters in length and with a gross tonnage of 9,923, is the fifth ship in the Explorer class. The first four ships in this series were built for the Portuguese shipping company Mystic Cruises.
A further ship in this series, the STAR EXPLORER, is scheduled for completion for Windstar Cruises at the end of 2026.
Am 13. November 2023 übernahmen Regent Seven Seas Cruises mit der SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR (IMO 9877444) ihr drittes Schiff der Explorer-Klasse. Das mit 55.254 gross tons vermessene Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiff wurde auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Ancona, Italien, gebaut. Es bietet 746 Passagieren Platz.

Die SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR beherbergt eine der herausragendsten und wertvollsten Kunstsammlungen auf See. Zu den 1.600 Werken zählen zum Beispiel mehrere Picasso, ein 12 Meter hoher, handgewebter Wandteppich sowie das weltweit erste Fabergé-Ei, das dauerhaft auf See bleibt.

On November 13, 2023, Regent Seven Seas Cruises took delivery of their third Explorer Class ship, the SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR (IMO 9877444). The 55,254 gross tons luxury cruise ship was constructed by Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy. She has a passenger capacity of 746.
Outstanding and highly valuable art collection on board
The SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR houses one of the most outstanding and valuable art collections at sea. The 1,600 works include, for example, several Picassos, a 12-meter-high, hand-woven tapestry and the world’s first Fabergé egg that remains permanently at sea.

The first base port of the SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR will be Miami, from where destinations in the Caribbean will be served.
Update: New photos from cruise liner LE JACQUES CARTIER
The French cruise line Ponant recently took over LE JACQUES CARTIER, their sixth Explorer class expedition cruise ship. We reported. The small luxury liner for a maximum of 184 passengers has now arrived in French waters and is currently cruising around Brittany. These two fresh photos have been provided by Ponant.
