Taufe der ROTTERDAM in Rotterdam

Am 30. Mai 2022 soll das neueste Kreuzfahrtschiff der Holland America Line, die ROTTERDAM, drittes Schiff der Pinnacle-Klasse, feierlich im Hafen von Rotterdam getauft werden. Taufpatin wird Prinzessin Margriet der Niederlande. Die Taufe wird eingebettet in eine spezielle 7-Tage-Kreuzfahrt „Rotterdam Naming Celebration“, die am 29. Mai in Amsterdam beginnt.

Die mit 99.935 gross tons vermessene ROTTERDAM wurde 2021 in Dienst gestellt. Das bei Fincantieri in Marghera gebaute Kreuzfahrtschiff ist 299,79 Meter lang und hat 12 Passagierdecks. Es ist ein Schwesterschiff der KONINGSDAM und NIEUW STATENDAM.

Christening of the ROTTERDAM in Rotterdam

Holland America Line’s newest cruise ship, the ROTTERDAM, the third class ship, is scheduled to be christened in the Port of Rotterdam on May 30, 2022. Godmother will be Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands. The naming ceremony will be embedded in a special 7-day cruise „Rotterdam Naming Celebration“ that departs Amsterdam on May 29th.

The ROTTERDAM, measured at 99,935 gross tons, was put into service in 2021. Built by Fincantieri in Marghera, the cruise ship is 299.79 meters long and has 12 passenger decks. She is a sister ship of the KONINGSDAM and NIEUW STATENDAM.

Viking Cruises übernehmen dieses Jahr 3 neue Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiffe

Bereits am 13. Januar 2022 ist die VIKING NEPTUNE bei Fincantieri in Ancona aufgeschwommen. Das mit 47.800 gross tons vermessene und für 930 Passagiere ausgelegte Schiff ist bereits das neunte Schiff der Venice-Klasse. Die VIKING NEPTUNE soll im November 2022 für Viking Cruises in Dienst gestellt werden. Ihr voran geht die VIKING MARS, die bereits im Mai dieses Jahres abgeliefert werden soll. Mit der ebenfalls für 2022 geplanten Ablieferung des Expeditionskreuzfahrtschiffs VIKING POLARIS werden Viking Cruises somit in diesem Jahr gleich drei neue Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiffe übernehmen. Im Frühjahr 2023 soll mit der VIKING SATURN das zehnte Schiff der Venice-Klasse folgen.

Mit Indienststellung soll die VIKING NEPTUNE ihre erste Saison im Mittelmeer verbringen, bevor sie am 20. Dezember 2023 zu einer 138-tägigen Weltreise ab Fort Lauderdale starten soll. Ab 59.995 US-Dollar pro Person ist man dabei, Hin- und Rückflug in der Business Class sowie ein Landausflug in jedem Anlaufhafen sind dabei aber auch schon im Preis inbegriffen.

Viking Cruises take delivery of 3 new Ocean going cruise ships this year

The VIKING NEPTUNE was floated out at Fincantieri yard in Ancona, Italy, on January 13, 2022. The cruise ship, measured at 47,800 gross tons and designed for 930 passengers, is already the ninth ship in the Venice class. The VIKING NEPTUNE is scheduled to enter service for Viking Cruises in November 2022. It is preceded by the VIKING MARS, which is scheduled for delivery in May of this year. With the delivery of the expedition cruise ship VIKING POLARIS, also planned for 2022, Viking Cruises will take over three new ocean-going cruise ships this year. The VIKING SATURN, the tenth ship in the Venice class, is to follow in spring 2023.

Upon commissioning, the VIKING NEPTUNE is to spend her first season in the Mediterranean before starting to sail for a 138-day world cruise from Fort Lauderdale on December 20, 2023. Starting at $59,995 per person, round-trip business class airfare and a shore excursion at each port of call are included in the price.

Sechstes Schiff der Royal-Klasse vor der Fertigstellung

Dieser Tage ist die DISCOVERY PRINCESS (IMO 9837468) von ihrer fünftägigen Probefahrt zur Bauwerft Fincantieri im italienischen Monfalcone zurückgekehrt. Vor der Ablieferung des Kreuzfahrtschiffs  an Princess Cruises sind noch einige Rest-Arbeiten an Bord vorzunehmen.

Das für 3.660 Passagiere ausgelegte Schiff ist das sechste und letzte Schiff der Royal-Klasse für Princess Cruises.

Es ist vorgesehen, den Cruise Liner ab Ende März 2022 für Kreuzfahrten an der US-Westküste zur Mexikanischen Riviera und ab Ende April für 7-Tage-Kreuzfahrten ab Seattle nach Alaska einzusetzen.

Sixth Royal Class ship nearing completion

The DISCOVERY PRINCESS (IMO 9837468) has just returned from her five-day sea trials to the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. Before the cruise ship will be delivered to Princess Cruises, there is still some remaining work to be done on board.

The ship, designed for 3,660 passengers, is the sixth and last Royal Class ship for Princess Cruises. It is planned to use the Cruise Liner from the end of March 2022 for cruises along the US west coast to the Mexican Riviera and from the end of April for 7-day cruises from Seattle to Alaska.

In Pakistan auf Strand gesetzt

Gebaut von 1988 bis 1993 bei Fincantieri Marghera als COSTA ROMANTICA (IMO 8821046) für Costa Crociere, 2011 / 12 umgebaut und dann umbenannte in COSTA neoROMANTICA: Nun wird der äußerlich durchaus markante Cruise Liner verschrottet. Am 3. Dezember wurde das Schiff in Gadani, Pakistan, auf Strand gesetzt.

Im Juli 2020 hatten Celestyal Cruises das Kreuzfahrtschiff noch von Costa Crociere übernommen und in CELESTYAL EXPERIENCE umbenannt. In Betrieb genommen hatte die Gesellschaft das Schiff allerdings nie. Stattdessen wurde in im September 2021 weiterverkauft und in ANTARES EXPERIENCE umbenannt. Nun endet die Karriere des Liners auf dem Strand von Gadani.

Former COSTA neoROMANTICA beached for scrapping

Built from 1988 to 1993 by Fincantieri Marghera as COSTA ROMANTICA (IMO 8821046) for Costa Crociere, refurbished in 2011/12 and then renamed COSTA neoROMANTICA: Now the distinctive Cruise Liner is being scrapped. On December 3, the ship was beached in Gadani, Pakistan.

In July 2020, Celestyal Cruises had taken over the cruise ship from Costa Crociere and renamed her CELESTYAL EXPERIENCE. However, the company never put the ship into operation. Instead, she was resold in September 2021 and renamed ANTARES EXPERIENCE. Now the career of the liner is ending on the beach of Gadani.

Erster Stahlschnitt für EXPLORA II

Zügiger Aufbau der Flotte für Explora Journey

Nur 6 Monate nach dem offiziellen Baubeginn für die EXPLORA I feierten MSC Cruises nun den ersten Stahlschnitt für die EXPLORA II. Der Stahlschnitt erfolgte auf der Werft in Castellamare di Stabia bei Neapel, das Schiff wird aber bei Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente gebaut.

EXPLORA I und EXPLORA II sind die ersten beiden von insgesamt vier Kreuzfahrtschiffen, die MSC für ihre neue Luxusmarke Explora Journey bauen lassen.

EXPLORA I soll 2023 und EXPLORA II soll 2024 fertig gestellt werden. Beide Schiffe werden mit jeweils 64.000 gross tons vermessen sein.

First steel cut for EXPLORA II

Only 6 months after the official construction start for the EXPLORA I, MSC Cruises celebrated the first steel cut for the EXPLORA II. The steel cut took place at the shipyard in Castellamare di Stabia near Naples, but the ship is being built at Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente. EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II are the first two of a total of four cruise ships that MSC has built for their new luxury brand Explora Journey. EXPLORA I is be completed in 2023 and EXPLORA II in 2024. Both ships will be measured with 64,000 gross tons each.

Jüngstes Schiff für NCL nimmt Gestalt an

Auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Marghera bei Venedig wurde kürzlich die NORWEGIAN PRIMA, erstes von bis sechs Kreuzfahrtschiffen der Leonardo-Klasse für Norwegian Cruise Line, ausgedockt. Die NORWEGIAN PRIMA sowie die folgenden Schiffe dieser Reihe – inzwischen in Prima-Klasse umbenannt – wird 300 Meter lang sein bei einer Vermessung von 142.500 gross tons. Die Passagier-Kapazität wird mit 3.300 angegeben. Das Kreuzfahrtschiff wird dem Trend folgend größere Außen-Areale haben.

NORWEGIAN PRIMA (IMO 9823986) soll im Sommer 2022 das erste Mal für Kreuzfahrten in See stechen.

NORWEGIAN PRIMA Floated Out

The NORWEGIAN PRIMA, the first of up to six Leonardo-class cruise ships for Norwegian Cruise Line, was recently floated out on the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera near Venice. The NORWEGIAN PRIMA and the following ships in this series – now renamed the Prima class – will be 300 meters long with a measurement of 142,500 gross tons. The passenger capacity is given as 3,300. Following the trend, the cruise ship will have larger outdoor areas.

NORWEGIAN PRIMA (IMO 9823986) is scheduled to set sail for the first cruises in the summer of 2022.

Drittes Schiff der Pinnacle-Klasse übergeben.

Mit der ROTTERDAM (IMO 9837470) haben Holland America Lines ihr drittes Schiff der Pinnacle-Klasse übernommen – nach der KONINGSDAM und NIEUW STATENDAM.

Die Übergabe der ROTTERDAM fand am 29. Juli auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Marghera statt. Die ROTTERDAM ist das 11. Schiff der Flotte von Holland America Lines.

Seinen Dienst wird der neue Cruise Liner allerdings erst mit einer Transatlantik-Reise am 20. Oktober ab Amsterdam aufnehmen.

With the ROTTERDAM (IMO 9837470) Holland America Lines have taken over their third Pinnacle class ship – after the KONINGSDAM and NIEUW STATENDAM. The handover of the ROTTERDAM took place on July 29th at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera.

The ROTTERDAM is the 11th ship in Holland America Lines‘ fleet. However, the new cruise liner will not begin its service until a transatlantic voyage from Amsterdam on October 20th.

Am 28. Juli 2021 wurde die SILVER MOON, jüngstes Kreuzfahrtschiff von Silversea Cruises, offiziell getauft. Die Tauf-Zeremonie des bereits im November 2020 abgelieferten Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiffs fand in Piräus statt. Taufpatin war die Italienerin Gaia Gaja vom Weingut Gaja im Piemont.

Die SILVER MOON (IMO 9838618) war auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Ancona gebaut worden. Sie ist 212,80 Meter lang und bietet Platz für 1.040 Passagiere.

Naming Ceremony for Luxury Cruise Liner SILVER MOON

The SILVER MOON, the youngest Silversea cruise ship, was officially christened on July 28, 2021. The christening ceremony of the luxury cruise ship, which had already been delivered in November 2020, took place in Piraeus. Godmother was the Italian Gaia Gaja from the Gaja winery in Piemont. The SILVER MOON (IMO 9838618) was built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona. She is 212.80 meters long and has a passenger capacity of 1,040 passengers.

Erstes Schiff der Seaside Evo-Klasse wurde übergeben

MSC Cruises haben ihr neues Flaggschiff, die MSC SEASHORE, übernommen. Die Übergabe fand auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Monfalcone statt. Das für bis zu 4.560 Passagiere ist sowohl das größte der Flotte der MSC Cruises als auch das größte je in Italien gebaute Passagierschiff. Die MSC SEASHORE ist das erste der Seaside-Evo-Klasse und das 19. Kreuzfahrtschiff von MSC Cruises.

Mit der MSC SEASCAPE ist bereits ein weiteres Schiff dieser Klasse in Bau.

MSC SEASHORE delivered

The first Seaside Evo class cruise ship was handed over to MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises have taken over their new flagship, the MSC SEASHORE. The handover took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone. The up to 4,560 passenger ship is both the largest in the MSC Cruises fleet and the largest passenger ship ever built in Italy. The MSC SEASHORE is the first Seaside Evo class ship and the 19th cruise ship in the MSC Cruises fleet.

With the MSC SEASCAPE, another ship of this class is already under construction with delivery scheduled for November 2022.

VIRGIN VOYAGES haben am 1. Juli 2021 ihre VALIANT LADY von Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente (Genua) übernommen. Das mit 110.000 Gross tons vermessene Kreuzfahrtschiff ist mit einer Länge von 278 Metern für 2.770 Passagiere in 1.400 Kabinen ausgelegt. Die VALIANT LADY (IMO 9805336) ist ein Schwesterschiff der im Februar 2020 abgelieferten SCARLET LADY (IMO 9804801). Das dritte dieser Reihe imposanter Kreuzfahrtschiffe, die RESILIENT LADY, wurde am 1. Juli bereits ausgedockt.

VIRGIN VOYAGES took over their VALIANT LADY from Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) on July 1st, 2021. The cruise ship, measured at 110,000 gross tons, is 278 meters long and designed for 2,770 passengers in 1,400 cabins. The VALIANT LADY (IMO 9805336) is a sister ship to the SCARLET LADY (IMO 9804801), which was delivered in February 2020. The third of this series of impressive cruise ships, the RESILIENT LADY, was floated on July 1st already.

Das Kreuzfahrtschiff mit Platz für bis zu 5.877 Passagieren soll im November 2022 abgeliefert werden.

Zu den Attraktionen an Bord werden gehören:

11 Restaurants, 19 Bars und Lounges, 6 Swimmingpools inklusive 1 Infinity-Pool am Heck, eine 540 Meter lange Waterfront Promenade sowie der größte MSC Yacht-Club der gesamten MSC-Flotte.

Baubeginn für EXPLORA I

Erstes Kreuzfahrtschiff für MSC-Luxus-Marke Explora Journey

Am 10. Juni 2021 fand auf der Fincantieri-Werft im italienischen Monfalcone der erste Stahlschnitt für die EXPLORA I statt. Das war der offizielle Baubeginn für das erste von vier Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiffen, die MSC für ihre Luxus-Marke Explora Journeys bauen lassen.

Die vier Schiffe werden jeweils 248 Meter lang sowie mit ca. 63.900 gross tons vermessen sein. Sie sollen 14 Decks und 9 Restaurants bekommen. An Bord des neuen Cruise Liners wird es 461 Suiten geben. Auf den Decks werden drei Außenpools  sowie ein vierter unter aufschiebbarem Glasdach zur Verfügung stehen. Whirlpools und Cabanas ergänzen das Angebot rund um die Pools. Weiterhin werden die Gäste u.a. einen großzügigen Wellness- und Spa-Bereich vorfinden.

Die EXPLORA I soll 2023 erstmals in See stechen, die weitern drei Schiffe folgen in den Jahren 2024 bis 2026.

Buchungsstart für die EXPLORA I wird im Herbst 2021 sein.

Start of construction for EXPLORA I

First cruise ship for MSC luxury brand Explora Journey

On June 10, 2021, the first steel cut for the EXPLORA I took place at Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. That marked the official start of construction for the first of four luxury cruise ships that MSC is having built for its luxury brand Explora Journeys.

The four ships will each be 248 meters long and measure around 63,900 gross tons. They will get 14 decks and 9 restaurants. There will be 461 suites on board the new cruise liner. Guests will find three outdoor pools on the decks and a fourth one under a sliding glass roof. Whirlpools and cabanas complete the offer around the pools. Furthermore, the guests will find, among other things, a spacious wellness and spa area.

The EXPLORA I is scheduled to set sail for the first time in 2023, and the three other ships will follow in the years 2024 to 2026.

Bookings for EXPLORA I will start in autumn 2021.

Viking Venus Naming Ceremony

Heute wird die Namensgebung der VIKING VENUS gefeiert.

Nachdem Viking Cruises am 15. April 2021 ihr neuestes Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiff, die VIKING VENUS (IMO 9833175) von Fincantieri übernommen hatte, erfolgt am heutigen 17. Mai im britischen Portsmouth die Taufe. Taufpatin ist die britische Fernseh-Journalistin Anne Diamond. Seit mehr als einem Jahr ist Anne Diamond eine Schlüsselfigur auf Vikings Streaming Kanal www.viking.tv, der 2020 kurz nach Beginn der Pandemie ins Leben gerufen wurde.

Die VIKING VENUS ist das achte Schiff der Venice-Klasse, einer Baureihe die seit 2014 bei Fincantieri auf den Standorten Ancona und Marghera entstanden ist.

Godmother is the British television journalist Anne Diamond. For more than a year, Anne Diamond has been a key figure on Viking’s streaming channel www.viking.tv, which was launched shortly after the pandemic began in 2020.

The VIKING VENUS is the eighth Venice class ship, a series that Fincantieri has built on its Ancona and Marghera plants since 2014.

Spektakulärer Neubau für Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Lines‘ neuestes Schiff, das derzeit bei Fincantieri gebaut wird, wird NORWEGIAN PRIMA heißen. Der Cruise Liner ist das erste von sechs Schiffen der Leonardo-Klasse und soll im Sommer 2022 abgeliefert werden.

Der Name Prima, das italienische Wort für „zuerst“, wurde u.a. deshalb gewählt, weil das Schiff unter dem Motto „Guest First“ stehen soll.

Die Rumpfbemalung (Hull Artwork) wird diesmal vom italienischen Graffiti-Künstler Manuel di Rita, besser bekannt als „Peeta“, geschaffen.

Unter diversen Innovationen auf dem Schiff ist eine, dass sich der exklusive Haven-Bereich heckseitig befinden wird mit allen Haven-Suiten Richtung Heck liegend. Die nur für Haven-Gäste zur Verfügung stehenden Aufzüge in diesem Bereich führen hinauf in die öffentlichen Bereiche des Haven auf Decks 16 und 17, wo sich u.a. ein exklusiver Infinity-Pool befindet.

Die auf den Schiffen der Breakaway-Klasse eingeführte „Waterfront“ wird auf der Leonardo-Klasse zum „Ocean Boulevard“. Diese Außen-Promenade wird noch größer und geräumiger als auf den vorigen Schiffen von Norwegian Cruise Line.

NORWEGIAN PRIMA – First Leonardo class ship

Norwegian Cruise Lines ‘ newest ship currently under construction at Fincantieri will be called NORWEGIAN PRIMA. The Cruise Liner is the first of six Leonardo class ships and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2022.

The name Prima, the Italian word for „first“, was chosen also because the ship is going to have the motto „Guest First“.

The hull artwork will be created by the Italian graffiti artist Manuel di Rita, better known as „Peeta“.

One of the various innovations on the ship is that the exclusive Haven area will be located at the stern, with all of the Haven Suites facing towards the stern. The elevators in this area, which are only available for Haven guests, lead up to the Haven public areas on decks 16 and 17, where guests can find, among other things, an exclusive infinity pool.

The “Waterfront” introduced on the ships of the Breakaway class becomes the “Ocean Boulevard” on the Leonardo class. This outside promenade will be even larger and more spacious than on previous Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

Fincantieri hat neuestes Schiff an Viking Cruises übergeben.

Am 15. April 2021 haben Viking Cruises ihre VIKING VENUS (IMO 9833175) von der Fincantieri-Werft in Ancona übernommen. Es ist bereits das siebte Schiff dieser Baureihe. Weitere sollen folgen. Das nächste wird die VIKING MARS.

Die Taufe der für 930 Passagiere ausgelegten VIKING VENUS soll am 17. Mai erfolgen. Taufpatin wird die britische Journalistin Anne Diamond. Dazu wird das Kreuzfahrtschiff in den kommenden Tagen nach Großbritannien überführt.

On April 15, 2021, Viking Cruises took over their VIKING VENUS (IMO 9833175) from the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona. She is already the seventh ship in this series. More are to follow. Next one will be VIKING MARS.

The christening of VIKING VENUS designed for 930 passengers is to take place on May 17th. The British journalist Anne Diamond will be the godmother. For this purpose, VIKING VENUS will be transferred to Great Britain in the coming days.
