ASTORIA to be scrapped in Belgium

Aiming to recycle 97% of materials
The ASTORIA (IMO 5383304), a nearly 80-year-old passenger ship built in Gothenburg in 1946 and with a rich history, will soon be scrapped. The Galloo shipbreaking yard in Ghent acquired the ship at an auction on June 17, 2025, in Rotterdam. The recycling facility aims to dismantle the ASTORIA so that 97% of its materials can be reused.
