Mit der ehemaligen SALAMIS FILOXENIA (IMO 7359400) ex VAN GOGH ex CLUB I ex CLUB CRUISE I ex ODESSA SKY ex GRUZIYA ist ein weiteres Kreuzfahrtschiff der Belorussiya-Klasse auf einer Abwrack-Werft eingetroffen. Unter dem Namen TITAN hatte dieser Liner seine letzte Reise angetreten, die am 19. April am Strand von Gadani in Pakistan endete.
Damit ist die DELPHIN das letzte verbliebene Schiff dieser Klasse. Gebaut 1973 / 74 war sie das erste von fünf Schiffen der Belorussiya-Klasse. Doch auch dieses Kreuzfahrtschiff liegt inzwischen schon seit mehreren Jahren beschäftigungslos auf, so dass davon ausgegangen werden muss, dass es innerhalb der nächsten Monate ebenfalls auf einer Abwrackwerft landen wird.

With the former SALAMIS FILOXENIA (IMO 7359400) ex VAN GOGH ex CLUB I ex CLUB CRUISE I ex ODESSA SKY ex GRUZIYA, another cruise ship of the Belorussiya class has arrived at a shipbreaking yard. Under the name TITAN, this liner started its last voyage, which ended on April 19 on the beach of Gadani in Pakistan.
This makes the DELPHIN the last remaining ship of this class. Built in 1973/74, she was the first of five ships in the Belorussiya class. But this cruise ship has also been laid up for several years, so it must be assumed that it will also end up at a scrap yard within the next few months.

Die auf Zypern ansässige Salamis-Gruppe hat die seit ca. 2 Jahren in Limassol aufliegende SALAMIS FILOXENIA (IMO 7359400) an eine Gesellschaft namens Prime Spot Ship Trading LLC in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten verkauft. Diese Transaktion macht wenig Hoffnung auf eine Zukunft für das Kreuzfahrtschiff.
Dieses wurde 1975 bei OY Wärtsilä in Turku (heute Meyer Turku) als Kreuzfahrt-Fähre GRUZIYA für die Black Sea Shipping Co., Odessa, gebaut. Sie war das zweite Schiff der Belorussiya-Klasse. Bei einer Länge von 156,27 Metern und einer Vermessung von 15.402 gross tons hat sie Platz für mehr als 800 Passagieren. In seinen Anfangsjahren hatte das Schiff darüber hinaus Platz für 250 Pkw. Nach GRUZIYA waren die Namen des Schiffs ODESSA SKY, CLUB CRUISE I, CLUB I, VAN GOGH und schließlich SALAMIS FILOXENIA. Die Namen weisen auf die wechselhafte Geschichte des Schiffs hin. Seit 2011 setzten Salamis Cruise Lines das Schiff für Kreuzfahrten im östlichen Mittelmeer ein.
Von den fünf baugleichen Schiffen der Belorussiya-Klasse existiert derzeit neben der SALAMIS FILOXENIA nur noch die DELPHIN ex BELORUSSIYA. Vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr war die ENCHANTED CAPRI ex AZERBAIZHAN in Mexiko auf Grund gelaufen und verrottet dort nun am Strand von Alvarado. Hier Aufnahmen von dieser Szenerie.

The Cyprus-based Salamis Group have sold their SALAMIS FILOXENIA (IMO 7359400), which has been laid up in Limassol for about 2 years, to a company called Prime Spot Ship Trading LLC in the United Arab Emirates. This transaction leaves little hope for the future of the cruise ship. This was built in 1975 by OY Wärtsilä in Turku (today Meyer Turku) as cruise ferry GRUZIYA for the Black Sea Shipping Co., Odessa. She was the second ship of the Belorussiya class. With a length of 156.27 meters and a measurement of 15,402 gross tons, she has a passenger capacity of more than 800 passengers. In her early years, the ship also had space for 250 cars.
After GRUZIYA, the names of the ship were ODESSA SKY, CLUB CRUISE I, CLUB I, VAN GOGH and finally SALAMIS FILOXENIA. The names refer to the checkered history of the ship. Salamis Cruise Lines has been using the ship for cruises in the eastern Mediterranean since 2011.
Of the five structurally identical ships of the Belorussiya class, in addition to the SALAMIS FILOXENIA currently only the DELPHIN ex BELORUSSIYA exists.
