MSC CRUISES und die Werft Chantiers de l’Atlantique feierten am 12. November 2025 die nächsten Meilensteine der MSC-World-Class-Schiffe. MSC WORLD ASIA ist das erste Mal aufgeschwommen; sie soll 2026 fertiggestellt werden. Für das vierte Kreuzfahrtschiff dieser Baureihe, die MSC WORLD ATLANTIC wurde die Münzzeremonie und Kiellegung gefeiert. Darüber hinaus wurde der Bau zweier weiterer Schiffe der World Class vereinbart – also Nr. 7 und Nr. 8 dieser Reihe. Da könnte man leicht den Überblick verlieren; daher hier einmal die Schiffe der World Class aufgelistet:

MSC CRUISES and the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard celebrated the next milestones for the MSC World Class ships on November 12, 2025. MSC WORLD ASIA floated out for the first time; she is scheduled for completion in 2026. The coin ceremony and keel laying for the fourth cruise ship in this series, MSC WORLD ATLANTIC, were also celebrated. Furthermore, the construction of two more World Class ships – numbers 7 and 8 in this series – was agreed upon. Here is a list of the World Class cruise ships:

MSC Cruises weiter auf Wachstumskurs

Wie MSC Cruises am 19. Mai mitteilten, haben sie der französischen Werft Chantiers de l’Atlantique den Auftrag für zwei weitere Kreuzfahrtschiffe der World Class erteilt. Die Nummern 5 und 6 dieser Baureihe sollen 2029 bzw. 2030 ausgeliefert werden.

MSC WORLD EUROPA (IMO 9837420) und MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) sind die beiden ersten, bereits in Fahrt befindlichen Schiffe dieser Klasse; MSC WORLD ASIA (IMO 9901556) und MSC WORLD ATLANTIC (IMO 9901568) werden gerade gebaut.

MSC Cruises Ordering Two More World-Class Ships

As announced on May 19, MSC Cruises placed an order with the French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique for two more World-Class cruise ships. Numbers 5 and 6 of this series are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030, respectively.

MSC WORLD EUROPA (IMO 9837420) and MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) are the first two ships of this class already in service; MSC WORLD ASIA (IMO 9901556) and MSC WORLD ATLANTIC (IMO 9901568) are currently under construction.

Am 9. April wurde in Miami die Taufe der MSC WORLD AMERICA gefeiert. Drew Barrymore, US-Schauspielerin, Moderatorin und Filmproduzentin, taufte das neue Flaggschiff von MSC Cruises im Beisein von Hollywood-Star Orlando Bloom.

Mit der Taufe startet die MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) in ihre Premieren-Saison mit Kreuzfahrten in die Karibik.

MSC WORLD AMERICA ist 333 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 216.638 vermessen. Sie hat 22 Decks, ist mehr als 47 Meter breit, verfügt über 2.614 Kabinen und bietet mehr als 40.000 m öffentliche Bereiche.

The christening of MSC WORLD AMERICA was celebrated in Miami on April 9. Drew Barrymore, US actress, presenter, and film producer, christened MSC Cruises‘ new flagship in the presence of Hollywood star Orlando Bloom.

With the christening, MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) begins her inaugural season with Caribbean cruises.

MSC WORLD AMERICA is 333 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 216,638. She has 22 decks, a beam of over 47 meters, 2,614 cabins, and more than 40,000 square meters of public space.

• Seven distinct areas that allow different target groups to customize their vacation
• 19 restaurants, including the only Eataly restaurant at sea
• 18 bars and lounges – including new highlights such as the All-Stars Sports Bar and the comedy club The Loft
• The Harbour – a completely redesigned outdoor area for families with the spectacular Cliffhanger overwater swing, a high ropes course, aqua park, playgrounds, relaxation areas, and included to-go snacks

Dreifach-Zeremonie für drei neue Schiffe auf den Chantiers de l’Atlantique

Am 27. März 2025 wurden auf den Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, Frankreich, drei wichtige Meilensteine gefeiert:

Die Ablieferung der MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432)
Die Münz-Zeremonie der MSC WORLD ASIA (IMO 9901556)
Der erste Stahlschnitt für MSC WORLD ATLANTIC

An den Zeremonien nahmen teil: Gianluigi Aponte (Gründer und Vorsitzender der MSC Group), Pierfrancesco Vago (Executive Chairman von MSC Cruises), Laurent Castaing (General Manager von Chantiers de l’Atlantique), Marc Ferraci (französischer Minister für Industrie und Energie) sowie Vertreter des Neubau-Teams von MSC Cruises sowie der Werft-Belegschaft teil.

Die Münz-Zeremonie für die MSC WORLD ASIA wurde von den Patinnen Marialuisa Iaccarino, Vize-Präsidentin für Landausflüge bei MSC Cruises, sowie Flavie Biondo, Geschäftsführerin bei Chantiers de l’Atlantique, durchgeführt. Die MSC WORLD ASIA soll im Winter 2026/27 in Dienst gestellt werden.

On March 27, 2025, three important milestones were celebrated at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, France:

The delivery of MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432)
The coin ceremony for MSC WORLD ASIA (IMO 9901556)
The first steel cutting for MSC WORLD ATLANTIC

Participating in the ceremonies were Gianluigi Aponte (Founder and Chairman of the MSC Group), Pierfrancesco Vago (Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises), Laurent Castaing (General Manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique), Marc Ferraci (French Minister of Industry and Energy), as well as representatives of the MSC Cruises newbuilding team and the shipyard staff.

The coin ceremony for MSC WORLD ASIA was conducted by godmothers Marialuisa Iaccarino, Vice President of Shore Excursions at MSC Cruises, and Flavie Biondo, Managing Director of Chantiers de l’Atlantique. MSC WORLD ASIA is scheduled to enter service in winter 2026/27.

MSC WORLD AMERICA : Termine für Ablieferung und Taufe

Zweites Schiff der World-Klasse hat Probefahrten abgeschlossen

Die Chantiers de l’Atlantique im französischen Saint Nazaire sind in die finale Phase im Bau der MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) eingetreten. Zuvor waren die Probefahrten des Kreuzfahrtschiffs-Neubaus erfolgreich abgeschlossen worden. Während der Testfahrten waren Leistung der Motoren, Manövrierfähigkeit, Treibstoffverbrauch, Bremsweg und Sicherheitssysteme getestet worden.

Nach Abschluss der restlichen Arbeiten an Bord soll die MSC WORLD AMERICA am 27. März an MSC Cruises übergeben werden.

MSC WORLD AMERICA ist das zweite Schiff der World-Klasse und zugleich das 23. Schiff in der Flotte der MSC Cruises. Sie ist dann auch das Flaggschiff der Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft.

Die Taufe der MSC WORLD AMERICA soll am 9. April am neuen Cruise Terminal von MSC Cruises in Miami stattfinden.

MSC WORLD AMERICA: Delivery and christening dates

The Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, France, have entered the final phase of construction of the MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432). The sea trials of the new cruise ship were previously successfully completed. During the sea trials, the performance of the engines, maneuverability, fuel consumption, braking distance and safety systems were tested.

After the remaining work on board will have been completed, the MSC WORLD AMERICA will be handed over to MSC Cruises on March 27th.

MSC WORLD AMERICA is the second World Class ship and the 23rd ship in the MSC Cruises fleet. She will then also be the flagship of the cruise company.

The christening of the MSC WORLD AMERICA is to take place on April 9th at the new MSC Cruises Cruise Terminal in Miami.

Zweite Probefahrten beendet

Die MSC WORLD AMERICA, zweites Kreuzfahrtschiff der World Class für MSC Cruises, nähert sich ihrer Fertigstellung. Sie hat vor einigen Tagen ihre zweiten Probefahrten beendet und ist zur Bauwerft Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire, Frankreich, zurückgekehrt. Der Cruise Liner soll im April dieses Jahres in Dienst gestellt werden.

MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) ist LNG-betrieben und hat Platz für bis zu 5.400 Passagiere. In ihrer ersten Saison wird sie für 7-Nächte-Kreuzfahrten in die Karibik und zu den Bahamas eingesetzt. Starthafen ist Miami.

MSC WORLD AMERICA Nearing Completion

Second sea trials completed

The MSC WORLD AMERICA, the second World Class cruise ship for MSC Cruises, is nearing completion. She completed her second sea trials a few days ago and has just returned to the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France. The cruise liner is scheduled to enter service in April this year.

MSC WORLD AMERICA (IMO 9837432) is LNG-powered and has a passenger capacity of 5,400. In her first season she will be deployed for 7-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. The base port is Miami.
