On July 14, three milestones in the continued fleet expansion of Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of MSC Cruises, were celebrated in Sestri Ponente, Italy, near Genoa.

• First steel cutting for EXPLORA V
EXPLORA III (IMO 9869899) is scheduled for completion in 2026, with EXPLORA IV (IMO 9869904) and EXPLORA V (IMO 9977892) the following year. EXPLORA VI (IMO 9977907) is scheduled to follow in 2028.

Ablieferung, Münzzeremonie und erster Stahlschnitt
Auf der Fincantieri-Werft in Sestri Ponente, Italien, gab es am 12. September gleich drei Anlässe zum Feiern:

Die EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887) soll am 15. September in Civitavecchia getauft werden, EXPLORA III (IMO 9869899) soll 2026 in Dienst gestellt werden, EXPLORA IV (IMO 9869904) im Jahr darauf.

On the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Italy, there were three reasons to celebrate on September 12th:
The delivery of the EXPLORA II, the traditional coin ceremony for the EXPLORA III and the first steel cutting for the EXPLORA IV.
This means that the construction of the fleet for Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of MSC Cruises, is progressing steadily.
The EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887) is to be christened on September 15th in Civitavecchia, EXPLORA III (IMO 9869899) is to be put into service in 2026, EXPLORA IV (IMO 9869904) the following year.

Die bei Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente bei Genua in Bau befindliche EXPLORA II hat ihre Probefahrten erfolgreich beendet. Damit sieht man bei Explora Journeys der baldigen Fertigstellung des Kreuzfahrtschiffs entgegen. Die EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887) ist das zweite von sechs Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiffen für Explora Journeys, der Luxus-Marke von MSC Cruises.
Die EXPLORA I (IMO 9869875) war im Sommer vergangenen Jahres fertiggestellt worden, derzeit befindet sich mit der EXPLORA III (IMO 9869899) bereits das nächste Schiff dieser Reihe in Bau, welches aber im Gegensatz zu den beiden ersten Schiffen einen LNG-Antrieb erhält.
EXPLORA II Successfully Completed Sea Trials
The EXPLORA II, which is under construction at Fincantieri in Sestri Ponente near Genoa, successfully completed her sea trials. Explora Journeys are therefore looking forward to their cruise ship being completed soon. The EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887) is the second of six luxury cruise ships for Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of MSC Cruises.
The EXPLORA I (IMO 9869875) was completed last summer, and the next ship in this series, the EXPLORA III (IMO 9869899), is currently under construction, but unlike the first two ships, she will be powered by LNG.
Modifizierte Versionen für EXPLORA III und IV geplant
Am 30. Mai wurde auf der Fincantieri-Werft im italienischen Monfalcone das Aufschwimmen der EXPLORA I (IMO 9869875) gefeiert. Sie ist das erste von vier Kreuzfahrtschiffen für Explora Journeys, der Luxus-Kreuzfahrtmarke von MSC Cruises. Die Fertigstellung ist für Ende Mai 2023 geplant.
Ein Jahr später, im Sommer 2024, soll die EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887), dessen Bau bereits begonnen hat, ebenfalls fertiggestellt sein. Für den Bau der EXPLORA III und IV (IMO 9869899 + IMO 9869904) wird derzeit eine modifizierte Version mit LNG-Antrieb geprüft.
EXPLORA I Floated Out – Photo Gallery
On May 30th, the floating out of EXPLORA I (IMO 9869875) was celebrated on the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. She is the first of four cruise ships for Explora Journeys, MSC Cruises‘ luxury cruise brand. Completion is scheduled for the end of May 2023.
A year later, in the summer of 2024, the EXPLORA II (IMO 9869887), whose construction has already begun, should also be completed. A modified version with an LNG drive is currently being tested for the construction of the EXPLORA III and IV (IMO 9869899 + IMO 9869904).
