LEGEND OF THE SEAS

Royal Caribbean Cruises haben den Namen des dritten Schiffs ihrer Icon-Klasse bekannt gegeben: LEGEND OF THE SEAS. Derzeit in Bau bei Meyer Turku in Finnland soll das Schiff im Juli 2026 in Dienst gestellt werden. Ihre erste Saison wird sie im westlichen Mittelmeer verbringen, bevor sie nach der Sommersaison nach Port Everglades als Basishafen positioniert wird. Die LEGEND OF THE SEAS (IMO 9888560) wird dann für 6- und 8-Nächte-Kreuzfahrten in die Karibik eingesetzt.

Third ship in the Icon class: LEGEND OF THE SEAS

Royal Caribbean Cruises announced the name of the third ship in their Icon class: LEGEND OF THE SEAS. Currently under construction at Meyer Turku in Finland, the ship is scheduled to enter service in July 2026. She will spend her first season in the Western Mediterranean before being positioned to Port Everglades as a base port after the summer season. LEGEND OF THE SEAS (IMO 9888560) will then be deployed for 6- and 8-night cruises to the Caribbean.

Rhapsody Of The Seas

Am 28. April 1995 – vor genau 25 Jahren – wurde die LEGEND OF THE SEAS an Royal Caribbean Cruises abgeliefert. Sie wurde bei den Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire gebaut und war damit das erste Schiff der Vision-Klasse für Royal Caribbean. Die LEGEND OF THE SEAS (IMO9070620) ist mit 69.472 gross tons vermessen, ist 264,26 Meter lang und hat Platz für 1.836 Passagiere. Sie fährt mittlerweile als MARELLA DISCOVERY 2 für Marella Cruises.

Die GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS und ENCHANTMENT OF THE SEAS wurden in Helsinki bei Kværner Masa Yards gebaut, alle anderen Schiffe der Vision-Klasse bei den Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Frankreich.

25th anniversary for Vision class

On April 28, 1995 – exactly 25 years ago – the LEGEND OF THE SEAS was delivered to Royal Caribbean Cruises. She was built on the Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint Nazaire and was the first Vision class ship for Royal Caribbean. The LEGEND OF THE SEAS (IMO9070620) measures 69,472 gross tons, is 264.26 meters long and has space for 1,836 passengers. She now usually sails as MARELLA DISCOVERY 2 for Marella Cruises.
