Norwegian Cruise Line has taken delivery of the NORWEGIAN LUNA (IMO 9824019) from Fincantieri in Marghera, Italy. She is the second ship in the Prima Plus class built by the Italian shipyard for NCL.
The handover ceremony was attended by Biagio Mazzotta, Chairman of Fincantieri, and Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of Fincantieri’s Merchant Ships Division.

Die Residenz-Schiffs-Projekte nehmen wieder Fahrt auf. Erst vergangene Woche berichteten wir über das DARK ISLAND-Projekt von Clydebuilt. Nun überrascht die Firma Crescent Heights mit einem weiteren Projekt dieser Art.
Crescent Heights ist ein US-amerikanischer urbaner Immobilienentwickler und hat sich auf die Entwicklung, den Besitz und den Betrieb architektonisch einzigartiger, gemischt genutzter Hochhäuser in Großstädten der USA spezialisiert. Unter der Marke Crescent Seas will die Firma ab Dezember mit einem Residenz-Schiff in See stechen. Dazu wird Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) die SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATOR (IMO 9064126) zur Verfügung stellen.
Das Schiff, das in NAVIGATOR umbenannt wird, wird auch weiterhin von NCLH betrieben. Es wird einer umfassenden und hochwertigen Renovierung für über 50 Millionen US-Dollar unterzogen. Die NAVIGATOR wird über 210 Residenzen verfügen, deren Preise zwischen 750.000 und 8 Millionen US-Dollar liegen. Zu den Annehmlichkeiten gehören ein erstklassiger Butler-Service für alle Einheiten und ein Starlink-Internetanschluss für Homeoffice oder Fernunterricht. Der Verkauf der Residenzen beginnt am 9. April. Die NAVIGATOR soll im Dezember 2026 ihre Jungfernfahrt antreten. Crescent Seas plant außerdem, in den nächsten fünf Jahren vier weitere Luxusresidenzschiffe anzukündigen.

Renowned cruise company and US real estate company to operate a residential ship
Residential ship projects are gaining momentum again. Just last week, we reported on Clydebuilt’s DARK ISLAND project. Now, Crescent Heights is surprising us with another project of this kind.
Crescent Heights is a US urban real estate developer specializing in the development, ownership and operation of architecturally unique, mixed-use high-rise buildings in major US cities. Under the Crescent Seas brand, the company plans to set sail with a residential ship starting in December. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) will provide the SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATOR (IMO 9064126) for this purpose.
The ship, which will be renamed NAVIGATOR, will continue to be operated by NCLH. It will undergo a comprehensive, high-quality renovation costing over US$50 million. The NAVIGATOR will feature 210 residences, ranging in price from $750,000 to $8 million. Amenities include first-class butler service in all units and Starlink internet access for home office or distance learning. Sales of the residences begin on April 9.
The NAVIGATOR is scheduled to embark on her maiden voyage in December 2026. Crescent Seas also plans to announce four more luxury residence ships over the next five years.
