Umbau zum Expeditions-Kreuzfahrtschiff

Das australische Tourismus-Unternehmen Terra Nova Expeditions hat das kombinierte Fracht- und Passagierschiff ST. HELENA (IMO 8716306) gekauft.

Das 1990 gebaute in Aberdeen gebaute Schiff verband bis 2018 die britische Übrersee-Insel ST. HELENA mit dem afrikanischen Festland. Diese Schiffsverbindung wurde 2018 komplett eingestellt.

In den vergangenen Jahren war das Schiff für die Organisation Extreme E als Fahrerlager für Rennen mit geländegängigen E-Fahrzeugen im Einsatz. Nun erwirbt das australische Tourismus-Unternehmen Terra Nova Expeditions das Schiff, um es zum Expeditions-Kreuzfahrtschiff umbauen zu lassen.

Die ST. HELENA ist 105 Meter lang, 19,2 Meter breit und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 6.767 vermessen.

Conversion to Expedition Cruise Ship

The Australian tourism company Terra Nova Expeditions has purchased the combined cargo and passenger ship ST. HELENA (IMO 8716306).

Built in Aberdeen in 1990, the ship connected the British overseas island of ST. HELENA with the African mainland until 2018. This service was completely closed down in 2018.

In recent years, the ship was used by the Extreme E organization as a paddock for races with off-road electric vehicles. Now, the Australian tourism company Terra Nova Expeditions is acquiring the ship to convert it into an expedition cruise ship.

The ST. HELENA is 105 meters long, 19.2 meters wide, and has a gross tonnage of 6,767 tons.
