Fincantieri übergibt achtes Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiff an Viking Cruises

Am 12. Mai 2022 haben Viking Cruises ihr neuestes Hochsee-Kreuzfahrtschiff, die VIKING MARS, von der Bauwerft Fincantieri in Ancona übernommen. Die VIKING MARS, vermessen mit 47.800 gross tons ist das bereits achte Schiff derselben Reihe. Sie bietet Platz für 930 Passagiere in 465 Kabinen.

VIKING MARS nimmt nun Kurs auf Valletta, Malta, wo sie am 17. Mai getauft werden soll. Taufpatin wird Lady Fiona Carnarvon, Countess of Carnarvon, sein. Sie ist Besitzerin des Highclere Castle im Süden Englands, welches als Drehort für verschiedene Filme und Fernsehserien diente, so auch für die TV-Serie „Downtown Abbey“. Viking Cruises sind Lady Carnarvon und ihrem Schloss in besonderer Weise verbunden. So können Gäste von Viking Cruises einen Aufenthalt auf Highclere Castle als Vor- oder Nachprogramm bestimmter Kreuzfahrten hinzubuchen.

Fincantieri handing over eighth ocean-going cruise ship to Viking Cruises

On May 12, 2022, Viking Cruises took delivery of their newest ocean-going cruise ship, the VIKING MARS, from the shipyard Fincantieri in Ancona. The VIKING MARS, measured at 47,800 gross tons, is the eighth ship in the same series. She has a passenger capacity of 930 in 465 cabins.

VIKING MARS is now setting course for Valletta, Malta, where she is scheduled to be christened on May 17th. Godmother will be Lady Fiona Carnarvon, Countess of Carnarvon. She is the owner of Highclere Castle in southern England, which has been used as a filming location for various films and television series, including the TV series „Downtown Abbey“. Viking Cruises have a special bond with Lady Carnarvon and her castle. Viking Cruises guests can book a stay at Highclere Castle as a pre- or post-cruise cruise.

Fincantieri hat neuestes Schiff an Viking Cruises übergeben.

Am 15. April 2021 haben Viking Cruises ihre VIKING VENUS (IMO 9833175) von der Fincantieri-Werft in Ancona übernommen. Es ist bereits das siebte Schiff dieser Baureihe. Weitere sollen folgen. Das nächste wird die VIKING MARS.

Die Taufe der für 930 Passagiere ausgelegten VIKING VENUS soll am 17. Mai erfolgen. Taufpatin wird die britische Journalistin Anne Diamond. Dazu wird das Kreuzfahrtschiff in den kommenden Tagen nach Großbritannien überführt.

On April 15, 2021, Viking Cruises took over their VIKING VENUS (IMO 9833175) from the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona. She is already the seventh ship in this series. More are to follow. Next one will be VIKING MARS.

The christening of VIKING VENUS designed for 930 passengers is to take place on May 17th. The British journalist Anne Diamond will be the godmother. For this purpose, VIKING VENUS will be transferred to Great Britain in the coming days.

Kiellegung für VIKING MARS

Am 4. Februar 2021 wurde auf dem Fincantieri-Standort im italienischen Ancona die Kiellegung der VIKING MARS gefeiert. Das Schiff, das bei Fertigstellung im Jahr 2022 mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 47.800 vermessen sein wird, wird für 930 Passagiere ausgelegt. Die VIKING MARS wird bereits das achte Schiff der Venice-Klasse für Viking Ocean Cruises. Die Schwesterschiffe sind VIKING STAR, VIKING SEA, VIKING SKY, VIKING SUN, VIKING ORION und VIKING JUPITER sowie die im Bau befindliche VIKING VENUS. Bis zu neun weitere Kreuzfahrtschiffe dieser Klasse wollen Viking Ocean Cruises bei Fincantieri bauen lassen.

Keel laying ceremony for VIKING MARS

On February 4, 2021, the VIKING MARS keel-laying ceremony was celebrated on the Fincantieri yard in Ancona, Italy. The ship, which will have a gross tonnage of 47,800 when completed in 2022, will be designed for 930 passengers. The VIKING MARS will be the eighth Venice class ship for Viking Ocean Cruises. The sister ships are VIKING STAR, VIKING SEA, VIKING SKY, VIKING SUN, VIKING ORION and VIKING JUPITER as well as the VIKING VENUS, which is currently under construction. Viking Ocean Cruises intend to have up to nine more cruise ships of this class built by Fincantieri.
