Tolle Bilder-Galerie von Vikings neuen Expeditions-Kreuzfahrtschiffen
Viking Ocean Cruises mit Sitz in Basel in der Schweiz steigen nun ebenfalls in den Expeditionsbereich ein. Derzeit betreibt die Gesellschaft sechs Luxus-Kreuzfahrtschiffe der Venice-Klasse, von der noch zwei weitere in Fahrt kommen sollen. Dabei handelt es sich um Schiffe mittlerer Größe bei einer Bruttoraumzahl von jeweils 47.800 und Kapazität von unter 1.000 Passagieren.
In den kommenden Jahren wird die Flotte der Viking Cruises, die 1997 von dem Norwegen Torstein Hagen als Viking River Cruises gegründet wurde, um zwei Expeditions-Kreuzfahrtschiffe ergänzt: die VIKING OCTANTIS und VIKING POLARIS.
Die VIKING OCTANTIS soll ab Januar 2022 ihre ersten Kreuzfahrten aufnehmen. Dabei soll sie in antarktischen Gewässern fahren, aber auch in den Großen Seen in Nord-Amerika. VIKING OCTANTIS soll dann schon im August desselben Jahres folgen.
Beide Schiffe werden von VARD mit einer Kapazität von jeweils 378 Passagieren gebaut.

Great pictures of Viking’s new expedition cruise ships
Viking Ocean Cruises, based in Basel, Switzerland, is now also entering the expedition area. The company currently operates six luxury cruise ships of the Venice class, of which two more are under construction . These are medium-sized ships with a gross tonnage of 47,800 each and a capacity of less than 1,000 passengers.
In the coming years, the Viking Cruises fleet, which was founded in 1997 by Norway’s Torstein Hagen as Viking River Cruises, will be completed by two expedition cruise ships: the VIKING OCTANTIS and VIKING POLARIS.
VIKING OCTANTIS is scheduled to start her first cruises in January 2022. She will sail in Antarctic waters, but also in the Great Lakes in North America. VIKING OCTANTIS will follow already in August of the same year.
Both ships will be built by VARD with a capacity of 378 passengers each.
