Vestland acquires the EXPEDITION – New Name VESTLAND ADVENTURER
Vestland Classic, operator of several small cruise ships (including the NORDSTJERNEN), has acquired the expedition cruise ship EXPEDITION from G Adventures. The ship will continue to operate as an expedition cruise ship in the polar regions.
The ship was originally built in 1972 as the car ferry KATTEGAT (IMO 7211074) at the Helsingør Skibsværft shipyard in Helsingør, Denmark, for Jydsk Færgefart. Over time, the ship changed ownership several times and was renamed multiple times. Other names included TIGER and Ålandsfärjan. She was converted into an expedition cruise ship in 2008/2009.
The ship was originally built in 1972 as the car ferry KATTEGAT (IMO 7211074) at the Helsingør Skibsværft shipyard in Helsingør, Denmark, for Jydsk Færgefart. The VESTLAND ADVENTURER is 105.23 meters long, has a gross tonnage of 6,334, and can accommodate 130 passengers.
