Aus der BERLIN wird die DREAM GODDESS

Traumschiff verkauft

Nachdem die deutschen FTI Cruises im Juli bekannt gegeben hatten, ihren Betrieb komplett einzustellen (wir berichteten), wurde ihr einziges Schiff, die BERLIN (IMO 7904889) inzwischen an eine maltesische Gesellschaft verkauft, die das Schiff in DREAM GODDESS umbenannt hat und in eine Mega-Yacht für Luxus-Kreuzfahrten unter der neuen Marke Dreamliner Cruises umbauen will.

Das Schiff hat in Deutschland als ehemaliges Traumschiff einen hohen Bekanntheitsgrad. Die BERLIN wurde 1980 bei den Howaldtswerken Deutsche Werft (HDW) in Kiel für die Reederei Peter Deilmann gebaut.

BERLIN sold and renamed DREAM GODDESS

After the German FTI Cruises announced in July that they would cease their operations completely (we reported), their only ship, the BERLIN (IMO 7904889), has menwhile been sold to a Maltese company, which has renamed the ship DREAM GODDESS and wants to convert her into a mega yacht for luxury cruises under their  new Dreamliner Cruises brand.

The ship is very well known in Germany as a former „TV dream ship“. The BERLIN was built in 1980 at Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft (HDW) in Kiel for the shipping company Peter Deilmann.

Was wird aus der BERLIN?

FTI geben im Rahmen von Umstrukturierungsmaßnahmen ihre Marke FTI Cruises auf. Die Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft soll zum Oktober 2020 aufgelöst werden. Damit ist auch das Schicksal des kleinen Kreuzfahrtschiffs BERLIN (IMO 7904889), einst das deutsche Fernseh-Traumschiff, ungewiss. Angesichts ihres Alters von 40 Jahren könnte der BERLIN die Schrottpresse drohen.

FTI are giving up their brand FTI Cruises as part of restructuring measures. The cruise company is due to be dissolved in October 2020. The fate of the small cruise ship BERLIN (IMO 7904889), once the German TV dream ship, is therefore uncertain. Given its age of 40, the BERLIN could face the scrap press.
