NYK Cruises haben am 10. April ihr neuestes Flaggschiff, die ASUKA III, offiziell von der MEYER WERFT in Papenburg übernommen. Die feierliche Übergabe markiert einen bedeutenden Meilenstein für beide Unternehmen und läutet eine neue Ära des luxuriösen Reisens auf See für den japanischen Markt ein.
An Bord des hochmodernen Schiffes zelebrierten Mr. Hiroyuki Endo, Präsident und CEO von NYK Cruises, und Kapitän Hisashi Kogue gemeinsam mit Bernd Eikens, CEO der MEYER WERFT, weiteren Führungskräften und Mitarbeitern beider Unternehmen sowie dem designierten Kapitän Hisashi Kogue die erfolgreiche Fertigstellung. Im Rahmen der Zeremonie fand traditionell der Flaggenwechsel statt, der die ASUKA III offiziell in die Flotte von NYK Cruises überführte.
Die ASUKA III verkörpert eine neue Interpretation von Luxus auf See, die speziell auf die Bedürfnisse und Vorlieben japanischer Reisender zugeschnitten ist. Das elegante Schiff bietet Platz für 740 Gäste. Zukünftig wird die ASUKA III von verschiedenen Häfen in Japan aus in See stechen und unvergessliche Kreuzfahrterlebnisse ermöglichen.
Ein besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf das einzigartige Design der ASUKA III gelegt, das großzügige, offene Bereiche mit der raffinierten Schönheit traditioneller japanischer Ästhetik harmonisch verbindet. Kunstliebhaber dürfen sich an Bord auf ausgewählte Werke japanischer Künstler freuen, darunter ein beeindruckendes Fresko von Hiroshi Senju im Gallery Café (Deck 6) und die anmutigen Gemälde von Reiji Hiramatsu im Noblesse Restaurant (Deck 6).
In ihrer ersten Saison wird die ASUKA III über 30 faszinierende Destinationen in ganz Japan anlaufen, darunter malerische Hafenstädte wie Hakodate, Otaru, Takamatsu, Shingu, Muroran und Moji. Ein besonderes Highlight des Fahrplans ist die „Japan Circumnavigation Cruise“, die Anfang August von Yokohama aus startet. Diese 12-Nächte-Reise führt die Gäste der ASUKA III zu den reizvollen Orten Hakodate, Otaru, Kanazawa, Maizuru, Moji und Beppu, bevor das Schiff in seinen Heimathafen zurückkehrt.

NYK Cruises, a leading Japanese cruise company, officially took delivery of their newest flagship, the ASUKA III, from MEYER WERFT in Papenburg on April 10. The ceremonial handover marks a significant milestone for both companies and heralds a new era of luxury travel at sea for the Japanese market.
On board the state-of-the-art ship, Mr. Hiroyuki Endo, President and CEO of NYK Cruises, and Captain Hisashi Kogue, together with Bernd Eikens, CEO of MEYER WERFT, other executives and employees of both companies, and Captain-designate Hisashi Kogue, celebrated the successful completion. The ceremony traditionally included the flag change, officially introducing the ASUKA III into the NYK Cruises fleet.
The ASUKA III embodies a new interpretation of luxury at sea, specifically tailored to the needs and preferences of Japanese travelers. The elegant ship accommodates 740 guests. In the future, the ASUKA III will set sail from various ports in Japan, offering unforgettable cruise experiences.
