A new cruise line, Corazul Cruceros, has been founded in Spain, specifically targeting the Spanish cruise market and, according to its own statements, filling the gap created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the Corazul Cruceros website, it appears that the company will acquire the PIANO LAND, currently operating for Astro Ocean in China, and put her into service under the name BUENAVISTA. The PIANO LAND is the former ORIANA (IMO 9050137), built between 1993 and 1995 in Papenburg, Germany.

Neuer Name BUENAVISTA?

Mit Corazul Cruceros hat sich in Spanien eine neue Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft gegründet, die sich speziell an spanisches Kreuzfahrt-Publikum richtet und damit eigenen Angaben zu Folge die in der Corona-Pandemie entstandene Lücke füllt.

Mit Blick auf die Website von Corazul Cruceros ist zu erwarten, dass die derzeit für Astro Ocean in China operierende PIANO LAND erworben wird und unter dem Namen BUENAVISTA in Dienst gestellt wird. Bei der PIANO LAND handelt es sich um die ehemalige ORIANA (IMO 9050137), gebaut 1993 bis 1995 in Papenburg

Tauf-Party der DISNEY DESTINY in Fort Lauderdale

Am 10. November 2025 wurde Disney Cruises Lines‘ neuestes Kreuzfahrtschiff der Wish-Klasse, die DISNEY DESTINY, feierlich in Fort Lauderdale getauft.

Taufpatin war die US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, Sängerin und Tänzerin Susan Egan. Sie hatte große Bekanntheit erlangt durch ihre Rolle als Belle im Broadway-Musical Beauty and the Beast. Darüber hinaus hatte sie beispielsweise der Figur Megara im Zeichentrickfilm Herkules ihre Stimme verliehen.

Die Tauf-Party der DISNEY DESTINY, die auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg gebaut worden war, war geprägt von einer glanzvollen Show: einer Kombination aus Video-Projektionen und Drohnen-Show. Dabei spielte eine Band Musik aus den Disney-Produktionen Herkules, König der Löwen, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean und Black Panther. Passend dazu wurde im Hintergrund die DISNEY DESTINY mit Video-Projektionen illuminiert, ergänzt durch eine Drohnen-Show im nächtlichen Himmel über dem Schiff.

Christening Ceremony for DISNEY DESTINY in Fort Lauderdale

On November 10, 2025, Disney Cruise Line’s newest Wish-class cruise ship DISNEY DESTINY was christened in a festive ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.

The ship’s godmother was American actress, singer, and dancer Susan Egan, best known for her role as Belle in the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast. She also lent her voice to characters such as Megara in the animated film Hercules.

The christening celebration for the Disney Destiny, built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, featured a dazzling show: a combination of video projections and a drone display. A band performed music from Disney productions including Hercules, The Lion King, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Black Panther. The Disney Destiny was illuminated with video projections in the background, complemented by a drone show in the night sky above the ship.

The DISNEY FANTASY has been in drydock at Damen in Brest, Brittany, since September 30th. Routine work, maintenance, and technical inspections are being carried out.

DISNEY FANTASY (IMO 9445590) was built in 2011/2012 at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg for Disney Cruise Line. She is 339.80 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 129,750 tons. She can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers in 1,250 cabins.

Seit 30. September liegt die DISNEY FANTASY im Trockendock bei Damen im bretonischen Brest. Es werden Routine-Arbeiten, Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen sowie technische Inspektionen durchgeführt.

DISNEY FANTASY (IMO 9445590) wurde 2011 / 2012 auf der Meyer-Werft in Papenburg für Disney Cruise Line gebaut. Sie ist 339,80 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 129.750 vermessen. In 1.250 Kabinen können bis zu 4.000 Passagiere untergebracht werden.

Baubeginn für neues Megaschiff

Ein weiteres Kreuzfahrtschiff der Superlative nimmt in Papenburg Gestalt an. Die Meyer Werft und die amerikanische Carnival Cruise Line haben gemeinsam die Kiellegung für das fünfte Schiff der Excel-Klasse gefeiert. Das Schiff soll den Namen CARNIVAL FESTIVALE tragen und die erfolgreiche Reihe der LNG-betriebenen Kreuzfahrtriesen fortsetzen.

Das neue Schiff, registriert unter IMO 1060289, das im Frühjahr 2027 an Carnival ausgeliefert werden soll, ist ein Schwesterschiff der bereits bekannten und erfolgreichen Schiffe MARDI GRAS, CARNIVAL CELEBRATION und CARNIVAL JUBILEE. Mit einer Länge von 344 Metern und einer Bruttoraumzahl von etwa 180.000 wird es Platz für mehr als 6.400 Gäste bieten.

Construction Begins on New Megaship

Another superlative cruise ship is taking shape in Papenburg. Meyer Werft and the American Carnival Cruise Line jointly celebrated the keel laying of the fifth ship in the Excel class. The ship will be named CARNIVAL FESTIVALE and continue the successful line of LNG-powered cruise giants.

The new ship, registered under IMO 1060289 and scheduled for delivery to Carnival in spring 2027, is a sister ship to the already well-known and successful ships MARDI GRAS, CARNIVAL CELEBRATION, and CARNIVAL JUBILEE. With a length of 344 meters and a gross tonnage of approximately 180,000 tons, she will accommodate more than 6,400 guests.

Das war die Taufe der ASUKA III

Die Taufe der ASUKA III in Yokohama

Am 11. Juli 2025 wurde die ASUKA III am Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal in Yokohama getauft. Taufpatin war Tamiko Soga, Ehefrau von Takaya Soga, dem Präsidenten von NYK. Zur Zeremonie gehörte auch das traditionelle Zerschellen einer Champagner-Flasche am Bug des Schiffs. Die Feier fand im Lumière-Theater an Bord statt.

Zur Taufe der ASUKA III lag zeitgleich die ASUKA II am Terminal. Nicht-geladene Gäste hatten die Möglichkeit, sich die Taufzeremonie von der Parkanlage auf dem Dach des Kreuzfahrt-Terminals aus anzusehen.

On July 11, 2025, the ASUKA III was christened at the Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal in Yokohama. Godmother was Tamiko Soga, wife of Takaya Soga, President of NYK. The ceremony included the traditional smashing of a champagne bottle against the bow of the ship. The celebration took place in the Lumière Theater on board.

The ASUKA II was moored at the terminal at the same time. Non-invited guests had the opportunity to view the christening ceremony from the park on the roof of the cruise terminal.

The construction of Disney Cruise Line’s third Wish-class/Triton-class ship is progressing. The floating out from the construction hall is scheduled for shortly. The current target date is August 09, 2025. The DISNEY DESTINY (IMO 9834741) will then be moored at the outfitting pier to continue work on the ship. In a few weeks later she will then be transferred across the Ems River to the North Sea.

Das dritte Schiff der Wish-Klasse / Triton-Klasse für Disney Cruise Line kommt im Baufortschritt voran. In Kürze steht das Ausdocken aus der Bauhalle an. Derzeit wird vom 9. August als Termin ausgegangen. Anschließend wird die DISNEY DESTINY (IMO 9834741) im Werfthafen festgemacht, um die Arbeiten am Schiff fortzusetzen. Wenige Wochen darauf wird dann die Überführung über die Ems zur Nordsee anstehen.

ASUKA Cruises announce initial details of the ceremony

The christening of ASUKA III will take place on July 11, 2025, at the Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal in Yokohama. At the same time ASUKA II will be moored at the terminal for the ceremony. Public guests will have the opportunity to view the christening ceremony from the park on the roof of the cruise terminal.

On July 20, ASUKA III, built by Meyer Papenburg, will begin her first cruise season.
