CELESTYAL OLYMPIA vor der Verschrottung?

Gebaut 1981 / 1982 bei Wärtsilä in Helsinki als SONG OF AMERICA für Royal Caribbean Cruise Line: die CELESTYAL OLYMPIA (IMO 7927984). Celestyal Cruises betrieb das Kreuzfahrtschiff seit 2012, zunächst unter dem Namen LOUIS OLYMPIA. Mit Ankauf der AIDAaura von AIDA Cruises vor wenigen Wochen haben Celestyal Cruises keine Verwendung mehr für die 41 Jahre alte CELESTYAL OLYMPIA. Angesichts ihres Alters dürfte sich auch kein Käufer mehr für die „alte Dame“ für einen Weiterbetrieb finden. Es wird daher erwartet, dass die CELESTYAL OLYMPIA demnächst Kurs auf eine Verschrottungswerft nimmt.

CELESTYAL OLYMPIA about to be scrapped?

Built in 1981 / 1982 by Wärtsilä in Helsinki, Finland, as SONG OF AMERICA for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line: the CELESTYAL OLYMPIA (IMO 7927984). Celestyal Cruises has operated the cruise ship since 2012, initially under the name LOUIS OLYMPIA. With the purchase of the AIDAaura from AIDA Cruises a few weeks ago, Celestyal Cruises no longer have any use for the 41-year-old CELESTYAL OLYMPIA. Given her age, it is unlikely to find a buyer for the “old lady” to continue operating her as a cruise ship. It is therefore expected that the CELESTYAL OLYMPIA will soon set course for a scrapping yard.
