ALBATROS verlässt Phoenix und wird Hotel-Schiff
Auch die dritte Royal Viking-Schwester wird zum schwimmenden Hotel
Nachdem Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines vor kurzem verkündet hatten, dass sie ihre BLACK WATCH (ex ROYAL VIKING STAR, IMO 7108930) und BOUDICCA (ex ROYAL VIKING SKY, IMO 7218395) verkauft haben, trennen sich nun auch Phoenix Reisen von ihrer ALBATROS (ex ROYAL VIKING SEA, IMO 7304314).
Die ALBATROS soll zu einem Hotel-Schiff in Ägypten umgebaut werden, und zwar für die Pick-Albatros-Gruppe. Aufenthalte auf dem schwimmenden Hotel sollen zukünftig auch über Phoenix buchbar sein. Die Schwester-Schiffe BOUDICCA und BLACK WATCH gehen hingegen in die Türkei, wo sie entgegen erster Ankündigungen nicht als Hotel-Schiffe dienen sollen, sondern als Unterkunftsschiffe.
Das dürfte für die drei Schwestern, die seinerzeit für die Royal Viking Line gebaut wurden, die letzte Station vor der Abwrack-Werft sein.

After Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines recently announced that they have sold their BLACK WATCH (ex ROYAL VIKING STAR, IMO 7108930) and BOUDICCA (ex ROYAL VIKING SKY, IMO 7218395), Phoenix Reisen is now also getting rid of their ALBATROS (ex ROYAL VIKING SEA , IMO 7304314).
The ALBATROS is to be converted into a hotel ship in Egypt for the Pick Albatros Group. In future, stays on the floating hotel should also be bookable through Phoenix. The sister ships BOUDICCA and BLACK WATCH, on the other hand, are going to Turkey, where, contrary to initial announcements, they will not serve as hotel ships, but as accommodation ships.
For the three sisters, which were originally built for the Royal Viking Line, that will probably be the last station before the scrapping yard.
