Am 28. November 2023 wurde die NORWEGIAN VIVA in Miami getauft. Mit dabei waren David J. Herrera, President Norwegian Cruise Line und Harry Sommer, President + CEO Norwegian Cruise Line Holding. Taufpate war Luis Fonsi, Musiker, Sänger, und Produzent. Er taufte das Schiff offiziell auf den Namen NORWEGIAN VIVA, indem er traditionsgemäß eine Champagner-Flasche am Bug zerschellen ließ. Auf der anschließenden Party gab Luis Fonsi einige seiner Hits zum Besten, darunter „Despacito“ oder „Echame La Culpa“.

NORWEGIAN VIVA (IMO 9823998) ist das zweite Schiff der Prima-Klasse. Sie ist mit 143.535 gross tons vermessen und hat Platz für 3.099 Passagiere bei Kabinen-Doppelbelegung. Das Schiff war am 3. August 2023 von Fincantieri Marghera an Norwegian Cruise Line abgeliefert worden.

Mit der NORWEGIAN AQUA wird ein drittes, etwas größeres Schiff dieser Klasse gebaut.

On November 28, 2023, the NORWEGIAN VIVA was christened in Miami. The naming ceremony was attended by David J. Herrera, President Norwegian Cruise Line and Harry Sommer, President + CEO Norwegian Cruise Line Holding. Godfather was Luis Fonsi, musician, singer and producer. He officially named the ship NORWEGIAN VIVA by traditionally smashing a champagne bottle on the bow. At the party afterwards, Luis Fonsi performed some of his hits, including “Despacito” and “Echame La Culpa”.

NORWEGIAN VIVA (IMO 9823998) is the second ship of the Prima class. She is measured at 143,535 gross tons and has a passenger capacity of 3,099 (double occupancy). The ship was delivered to Norwegian Cruise Line by Fincantieri Marghera on August 3, 2023.

With the NORWEGIAN AQUA, a third, slightly larger ship of this class is currently under construction.
