Zwei neue Kreuzfahrtschiffe für Windstar Cruises

STAR SEEKER und STAR EXPLORER

Die US-amerikanische Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft Windstar Cruises mit Sitz in Miami kauft überraschend zwei neue Kreuzfahrtschiffe. Diese sollen unter den Namen STAR SEEKER und STAR EXPLORER in Dienst gestellt werden.

Die STAR SEEKER befindet sich derzeit gerade in Bau auf der West SEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, und soll im Dezember 2025 abgeliefert werden. Das Schiff wurde ursprünglich von Mystic Cruises für deren Marke Atlas Ocean Voyages in Auftrag gegeben.

Bei der zukünftigen STAR EXPLORER handelt es sich um die WORLD EXPLORER von Mystic Cruises, die derzeit in Charter für Quark Expeditions fährt. Sie soll 2026 von Windstar Cruises übernommen werden.

Two New Cruise Ships for Windstar Cruises

STAR SEEKER and STAR EXPLORER

The US cruise company Windstar Cruises, based in Miami, is surprisingly buying two new cruise ships. These are to be put into service under the names STAR SEEKER and STAR EXPLORER.

The STAR SEEKER is currently under construction on the West SEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal and is scheduled for delivery in December 2025. The ship was originally ordered by Mystic Cruises for their Atlas Ocean Voyages brand.

The future STAR EXPLORER is the WORLD EXPLORER from Mystic Cruises, which is currently sailing in charter for Quark Expeditions. She is scheduled to be taken over by Windstar Cruises in 2026.

Luxus-Liner OCEAN DIAMOND wird Wohnschiff für Offshore-Industrie

SunstoneShips / Diamond Cruise Partners haben ihre zuletzt von Quark Expeditions betriebene OCEAN DIAMOND (IMO 7325629) verkauft. Käufer ist die Bridgeman Services Group, die das Schiff zukünftig als Wohnschiff für Arbeiter in der Offshore-Industrie nutzen wollen. Der neue Name des Schiffs wird DIAMOND XI sein.

Das Schiff war 1974 als RoRo-Schiff BEGONIA gebaut und 1986 auf der Lloyd-Werft in Bremerhaven zum Kreuzfahrtschiff umgebaut worden. Es wurde seitdem meist für Expeditions-Kreuzfahrten eingesetzt. Es ist 124,19 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 8.232 vermessen

Luxury Cruise Liner OCEAN DIAMOND to be converted into Residential Ship for the Offshore Industry

SunstoneShips / Diamond Cruise Partners have sold their OCEAN DIAMOND (IMO 7325629), which was last operated by Quark Expeditions. The buyer is Bridgeman Services Group, which wants to use the ship in the future as a residential ship for workers in the offshore industry. The ship’s new name will be DIAMOND XI.

The ship was built in 1974 as RoRo ship BEGONIA and converted into a cruise ship in 1986 by Lloyd Shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany. Since then she was mostly used for expedition cruises. She is 124.19 meters long and measured with a gross tonnage of 8,232

Quark Expeditions übernehmen die ULTRAMARINE

Expeditionskreuzfahrtschiff mit Aus“flugs“-Programm!

Die in Seattle, USA, ansässigen Quark Expeditions, haben am 1. April 2021 mit der ULTRAMARINE (IMO 9861017) ihren allerersten Neubau übernommen. Die Übernahme des Expeditionskreuzfahrtschiffs, welches für 199 Passgiere ausgelegt ist, erfolgte im kroatischen Split. Gebaut wurde das Schiff auf der Brodosplit-Werft.

Die ULTRAMARINE ist 128 Meter lang und mit Eisklasse 1A+ /PC6 ausgestattet. An Bord befinden sich zwei Helikopter für Aus“flüge“.

Quark Expeditions took over the ULTRAMARINE

First newbuild delivered for Quark Expeditions

Quark Expeditions, based in Seattle, USA, took over their very first new ship on April 1, 2021 with the ULTRAMARINE (IMO 9861017). The takeover of the expedition cruise ship, which is designed for 199 passengers, took place in Split, Croatia. The ship was built at the Brodosplit shipyard. The ULTRAMARINE is 128 meters long and has ice class 1A + / PC6. There are two helicopters on board, which will be used for excursions.
