Zweites Schiff für Margaritaville at Sea

Die US-Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft Margaritaville at Sea übernimmt die COSTA ATLANTICA von Costa Cruises. Das Kreuzfahrtschiff soll ab Sommer 2024 für 4- und 5-Nächte-Kreuzfahrten ab Port Tampa Bay nach Key West und Mexiko eingesetzt werden.

Die COSTA ATLANTICA (IMO 9187796) wurde 1999 / 2000 bei Kvaerner Masa Yards in Helsinki gebaut. Sie ist 292,56 Meter lang, mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 85.619 vermessen und hat Platz für bis zu 2.680 Passagiere.

Die Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft Margaritaville at Sea ging aus der 2014 gegründeten Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line hervor. Sie betreibt derzeit bereits ein ehemaliges Schiff aus der Costa-Flotte, nämlich die MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA PARADISE ex COSTA CLASSICA.

Second ship for Margaritaville at Sea

The US cruise company Margaritaville at Sea is taking over the COSTA ATLANTICA from Costa Cruises. The cruise ship is scheduled to be deployed for 4- and 5-night cruises from Port Tampa Bay to Key West and Mexico starting in summer 2024.

The COSTA ATLANTICA (IMO 9187796) was built in 1999/2000 at Kvaerner Masa Yards in Helsinki. She is 292.56 meters long, measured with a gross tonnage of 85,619 and has space for up to 2,680 passengers.

The cruise company Margaritaville at Sea emerged from the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, which was founded in 2014. It currently operates a former ship from the Costa fleet, namely the MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA PARADISE ex COSTA CLASSICA.

Außergewöhnliche Schiffstaufe mit Karibik-Flair

Am 12. Mai wurde die MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA PARADISE im Rahmen einer Ein-Tages Mini Cruise für geladende Gäste ab Palm Beach getauft.

Zur traditionellenTauf-Zeremonie gab es ein überraschendes Live-Konzert mit dem Sänger, Songwriter und Bestsellerautor Jimmy Buffett. Die Taufzeremonie für Margaritaville at Sea Paradise fand im Stars on the Water Theater statt. Taufpate war der American Football Spieler und Gewinner des NFL Game Changer Award, Shaquem Griffin. Gesegnet wurde das Kreuzfahrtschiff von Pastorin Christine Bandy-Helderman, bevor eine große Sail Away Party an Bord begann, zu der auch eine überraschende einstündige Live-Performance von Jimmy Buffett gehörte. Gespielt wurden Songs wie „Margaritaville“ und „Cheeseburger in Paradise“

Später nahmen die Gäste an einer exklusiven Vorschau auf „Tales from Margaritaville: Jimmy’s Ship Show“ teil, geschrieben und produziert von Jimmy Buffett und Produzent Frank Marshall. Die Nacht endete mit Spielen, Salsa-Tanzstunden, einer Tropical-Glow-Party und einer karibischen Pool-Deck-Soiree unter den Sternen.

Am 14. Mai stach die Margaritaville at Sea Paradise zu ihrer ersten Reise mit zahlenden Passagieren in See: eine Zwei-Nächte Cruise von Palm Beach zur Grand Bahama Island und zurück.

Das Kreuzfahrtschiff war 1991 bei Fincantieri in Monfalcone als COSTA CLASSICA (IMO 8716502) gebaut worden. Es ist 220,61 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 52.926 vermessen.

Cruise ship MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA PARADISE christened during extraordinary ceremony

On May 12, the MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA PARADISE was christened during a one-day mini cruise for invited guests starting at Palm Beach.

The traditional christening ceremony was accompanied by a surprising live concert with the singer, songwriter and best-selling author Jimmy Buffett. The naming ceremony for Margaritaville at Sea Paradise was held at the Stars on the Water Theater. Godfather was American football player and NFL Game Changer Award winner Shaquem Griffin. The cruise ship was blessed by Pastor Christine Bandy-Helderman before a grand Sail Away Party began on board, which included a surprise hour-long live performance by Jimmy Buffett. Songs like „Margaritaville“ and „Cheeseburger in Paradise“ were played. Later, guests attended an exclusive preview of Tales from Margaritaville: Jimmy’s Ship Show, written and produced by Jimmy Buffett and producer Frank Marshall. The night ended with games, salsa dancing lessons, a tropical glow party and a Caribbean pool deck soiree under the stars.

On May 14, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise set sail on her first fare-paying voyage: a two-night cruise from Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island and back.

The cruise ship was built in 1991 by Fincantieri in Monfalcone as the COSTA CLASSICA (IMO 7816502). She is 220.61 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 52,926.

Aus GRAND CLASSICA wird MARGARITAVILLE PARADISE

Margaritaville Resorts + Hotels steigen ins Kreuzfahrtgeschäft ein

Die nach dem Lied „Margaritaville“ von Jimmy Buffett benannte Hotelgesellschaft Margaritaville Hotels + Resorts werden im Frühjahr 2022 mit der ehemaligen GRAND CLASSICA ex COSTA neoCLASSICA ins Kreuzfahrtgeschäft einsteigen. Das Schiff wird dazu in MARGARITAVILLE PARADISE umbenannt und bekommt ein auffälliges, neues Hull Artwork. Unter der Kreuzfahrtmarke Margaritaville at Sea werden ab 30. April 2022 Zwei-Nächte-Kreuzfahrten ab Palm Beach angeboten.

Zuvor wird das Kreuzfahrtschiff noch einmal grundlegend renoviert. Eigner des Schiffs bleiben übrigens Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. Das Schiff wurde 1990 / 1992 bei Fincantieri in Monfalcone als COSTA CLASSICA (IMO 8716502) für Costa Crociere gebaut. Es ist 220,61 Meter lang und im derzeitigen Bauzustand mit 53.015 gross tons vermessen, es hat Platz für 1680 Passagiere.

Das Schwesterschiff, die ehemalige COSTA ROMANTICA, wird derzeit in Pakistan verschrottet.

GRAND CLASSICA to become MARGARITAVILLE PARADISE

The hotel company Margaritaville Hotels + Resorts, named after the song “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffett, will enter the cruise business in spring 2022 with the former GRAND CLASSICA ex COSTA neoCLASSICA. The ship will be renamed to MARGARITAVILLE PARADISE and will get a striking, new hull artwork.

Two-night cruises from Palm Beach will be offered from April 30, 2022 under the cruise brand Margaritaville at Sea. The cruise ship will be completely renovated beforehand. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will remain the owners of the cruise liner.

The ship was built in 1990/1992 by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy, as COSTA CLASSICA for Costa Crociere. She is 220.61 meters long and in the current state of construction measured 53,015 gross tons, she has a passenger cpacity of 1,680. The sister ship, the former COSTA ROMANTICA, is currently being scrapped in Pakistan.
