Steigen Seajets ins Kreuzfahrtgeschäft ein?

Die griechische Fährgesellschaft Seajets hatte in den vergangenen Jahren diverse gebrauchte Kreuzfahrtschiffe aufgekauft, einige davon aber auch wieder verkauft. Damit haben Seajets derzeit noch vier Kreuzfahrtschiffe in ihrer Flotte: QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (ex OCEANA, P&O), MYKONOS MAGIC (ex COSTA MAGICA), AEGEAN MAJESTY (ex VEENDAM, HAL) sowie MAJESTY OF THE OCEANS (ex MAJESTY OF THE SEAS).

Da die Gesellschaft derzeit versucht, einige Führungspositionen im Kreuzfahrtbereich zu besetzen, liegt die Annahme nahe, dass sie nun selbst ins Kreuzfahrtgeschäft einsteigen will. Dabei bleibt unklar, mit wie vielen und welchen Schiffen man in den Markt einsteigen will. Man darf auf Neuigkeiten seitens Seajets gespannt sein.

The Greek ferry company Seajets had bought various used cruise ships in recent years, but also sold some of them again. Seajets currently have four cruise ships in their fleet: QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (ex OCEANA, P&O), MYKONOS MAGIC (ex COSTA MAGICA), AEGEAN MAJESTY (ex VEENDAM, HAL) and MAJESTY OF THE OCEANS (ex MAJESTY OF THE SEAS) .

Since the company is currently trying to fill some management positions in the cruise sector, it is reasonable to assume that they now try to enter the cruise business theirselves. It remains unclear how many and which ships they want to enter the market with. We may look forward to news from Seajets.

Neue Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft etabliert sich

Mit der CFC Compagnie Française de Croisières formiert sich eine neue französische Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft. Diese hat nun die AEGEAN MYTH (IMO 8919257) von Seajets erworben und in RENAISSANCE umbenannt. Bei dem Schiff handelt es sich um die ehemalige MAASDAM der Holland America Line, gebaut 1993 bei Fincantieri in Monfalcone, 219,21 Meter lang und mit 55.575 gross tons vermessen. Holland America Line hatte das Schiff der Statendam-Klasse 2020 während der Corona-Pandemie an die griechische Gesellschaft Seajets verkauft, die es in AEGEAN MYTH umbenannt, aber selbst nie zum Einsatz gebracht hatte.

Gründer der CFC Compagnie Française de Croisières mit Sitz in Marseille sind Clément Mousset, ehemaliger Direktor von CMV France, sowie Cédric Rivoire Perrochat, ehemaliger Direktor für Marketing, Kommunikation und Operations bei CMV France. Näheres wollen die Gründer Anfang September bekanntgeben.

AEGEAN MYTH ex MAASDAM sold to France

New cruise line established

A new French cruise company is formed with the CFC Compagnie Française de Croisières. This new company just acquired the AEGEAN MYTH (IMO 8919257) from Seajets and renamed her RENAISSANCE. The ship is the former MAASDAM of the Holland America Line, built in 1993 by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, 219.21 meters long and measured at 55,575 gross tons. Holland America Line had sold the Statendam-class ship to the Greek company Seajets in 2020 during the corona pandemic, which renamed her AEGEAN MYTH but never made use of her.

The founders of CFC Compagnie Française de Croisières, based in Marseille, are Clément Mousset, former Director of CMV France, and Cédric Rivoire Perrochat, former Director of Marketing, Communications and Operations at CMV France. The founders want to announce more details at the beginning of September.

Griechische Reederei weiter auf Shopping-Tour

Wie berichtet hatte der griechische Fährdienst-Betreiber Seajets in den vergangenen Wochen und Monaten mehrere Kreuzfahrtschiffe erworben und damit für sich die Gunst der Stunde in der Pandemie genutzt.

Nun wurde bekannt, dass Seajets sich auch die COLUMBUS und MAGELLAN, die nach der Insolvenz von Cruise & Maritime Voyages zur Versteigerung standen, gesichert hat. Unterdessen ist nach wie vor unklar, welche konkreten Pläne Seajets mit den Schiffen verfolgen. Bisher waren Seajets noch nicht als Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft aufgetreten.

As reported, the Greek ferry service operator Seajets had acquired several cruise ships in the past weeks and months and thus used the opportunity in the pandemic.

Recent reports say that Seajets has now even secured COLUMBUS and MAGELLAN, which were up for auction following the bankruptcy of Cruise & Maritime Voyages. Meanwhile, it is still unclear what specific plans Seajets are pursuing with the ships. Seajets had not yet appeared as a cruise line

Seajets kaufen PACIFIC ARIA

Der griechische Fährdienst-Betrieber Seajets überraschte bereits im Juli dieses Jahres mit dem Kauf der OCEANA von P&O Cruises, jetzt QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (IMO 9169550). Nun legen Seajets nach und sorgen mit dem Kauf der PACIFIC ARIA (IMO 8919269), ebenfalls ein Schiff aus der Carnival-Gruppe, für eine weitere Überraschung.

Indes hüllen sich Seajets bisher in Schweigen darüber, wie und wo sie die Kreuzfahrtschiffe einsetzen wollen.

Alread in July this year, the Greek ferry operator Seajets surprised the market with the purchase of the OCEANA from P&O Cruises, now QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (IMO 9169550). Now Seajets are adding up and providing another surprise with the purchase of the PACIFIC ARIA (IMO 8919269), also a ship from the Carnival Group.

Meanwhile, Seajets have so far been silent about how and where they want to use the cruise ships.

Seajets übernehmen die OCEANA von P&O

Die zum Carnival-Konzern gehörenden, britischen P&O Cruises haben ihre OCEANA (IMO 9169550) an die griechische Gesellschaft Seajets verkauft. Die Übergabe fand am 24. Juli 2020 in Paros statt.

Seajets ist eine Fährgesellschaft, die Passagier- und Frachtdienste in der Ägäis anbietet. Mit der von P&O angekauften OCEANA wird erstmals ein Kreuzfahrtschiff in die Seajets-Flotte aufgenommen. Das Schiff wurde umbenannt in QUEEN OF THE OCEANS.

Der Cruise Liner wurde 1999 / 2000 bei Fincantieri in Monfalcone gebaut. Das Schiff der Sun-Klasse ist 261,31 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 77.499 vermessen. Es bietet Platz für ca. 2.770 Passagiere.

P&O Cruises, which belong to the Carnival Group, sold their OCEANA (IMO 9169550) to the Greek company Seajets. The handover took place on July 24, 2020 in Paros.

Seajets is a ferry company that offers passenger and freight services in the Aegean. With the OCEANA purchased from P&O, a cruise ship is added to the Seajets fleet for the first time. The ship was renamed QUEEN OF THE OCEANS.

The cruise liner was built at Fincantieri in Monfalcone in 1999/2000. The Sun class ship is 261.31 meters long and measured with a gross tonnage of 77,499. It can accommodate about 2,770 passengers.
