Der griechische Fährdienst-Betrieber Seajets überraschte bereits im Juli dieses Jahres mit dem Kauf der OCEANA von P&O Cruises, jetzt QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (IMO 9169550). Nun legen Seajets nach und sorgen mit dem Kauf der PACIFIC ARIA (IMO 8919269), ebenfalls ein Schiff aus der Carnival-Gruppe, für eine weitere Überraschung.
Indes hüllen sich Seajets bisher in Schweigen darüber, wie und wo sie die Kreuzfahrtschiffe einsetzen wollen.
Seajets purchasing PACIFIC ARIA
Alread in July this year, the Greek ferry operator Seajets surprised the market with the purchase of the OCEANA from P&O Cruises, now QUEEN OF THE OCEANS (IMO 9169550). Now Seajets are adding up and providing another surprise with the purchase of the PACIFIC ARIA (IMO 8919269), also a ship from the Carnival Group.
Meanwhile, Seajets have so far been silent about how and where they want to use the cruise ships.

Während die zum Carnival-Konzern gehörenden Gesellschaften Costa Crociere und AIDA Cruises in Europa einen vorsichtigen Neustart wagen, setzt der Konzern den Verkauf älterer Einheiten fort.
Insgesamt 18 Kreuzfahrtschiffe will Carnival bis Ende des Jahres verkauft haben.

COSTA ATLANTICA – IMO 9187796 – seit Januar 2020 für CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd., einem Joint Venture von Carnival und China State Shipbuilding, registriert.

Die zum Carnival-Konzern gehörenden, britischen P&O Cruises haben ihre OCEANA (IMO 9169550) an die griechische Gesellschaft Seajets verkauft. Die Übergabe fand am 24. Juli 2020 in Paros statt.
Seajets ist eine Fährgesellschaft, die Passagier- und Frachtdienste in der Ägäis anbietet. Mit der von P&O angekauften OCEANA wird erstmals ein Kreuzfahrtschiff in die Seajets-Flotte aufgenommen. Das Schiff wurde umbenannt in QUEEN OF THE OCEANS.
Der Cruise Liner wurde 1999 / 2000 bei Fincantieri in Monfalcone gebaut. Das Schiff der Sun-Klasse ist 261,31 Meter lang und mit einer Bruttoraumzahl von 77.499 vermessen. Es bietet Platz für ca. 2.770 Passagiere.
Seajets took over P&O’s OCEANA
P&O Cruises, which belong to the Carnival Group, sold their OCEANA (IMO 9169550) to the Greek company Seajets. The handover took place on July 24, 2020 in Paros.
Seajets is a ferry company that offers passenger and freight services in the Aegean. With the OCEANA purchased from P&O, a cruise ship is added to the Seajets fleet for the first time. The ship was renamed QUEEN OF THE OCEANS.
The cruise liner was built at Fincantieri in Monfalcone in 1999/2000. The Sun class ship is 261.31 meters long and measured with a gross tonnage of 77,499. It can accommodate about 2,770 passengers.
